Review for Tell Every Amazing Lady About Ovarian Cancer Foundation Louisa M. McGregor Ovarian Cancer Foundation, Brooklyn, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I had actually participated in the T.E.A.L. Walk in 2011 not knowing the story or mission of T.E.A.L. I first heard about the amazing story of T.E.A.L. and its mission; to promote the signs and symptoms of Ovarian Cancer and to help find a cure for this deadly disease, while attending an after school seminar at Brooklyn College. I only ended up attending to keep a friend company, but little did I know how impressed I would be with this organization. Pamela the Co-Founder and Executive Director at T.E.A.L. was the one who spoke about her and her sister Louisa's journey and about how still after her sister's death in 2011, she has dedicated her whole life to getting people to "Tell Every Amazing Lady" about this disease. Awareness and Research is T.E.A.L.'s primary focus. Pamela inspired me with her words and knowledge on the subject. My mother is a Breast Cancer survivor and I have always had such a hard time talking about it, watching Pamela speak about her sister and other survivors made me realize that the only way we can help fight any cancer is my helping out, and speaking out. At the end of the seminar she asked that if anyone would like to intern to please contact her. I saw this as a sign to help out and a few weeks later I had worked out an internship with Pamela.

I have been extremely proud to be a team member of this growing organization. I have no doubt in my mind that with the determination and leadership of Pamela and the heart put into it by all the volunteers, survivors, and board members that this will be a leading national Ovarian Cancer organization in 10 years. T.E.A.L. since its start in 2009 has raised over a quater of a million dollars in research. They have helped promote awareness all over NYC, they have the largest Ovarian Cancer Walk in NYC, partnered with the NY Mets for the first Ovarian Cancer Awareness Day at Citi Field ,they have helped survivors feel like that had a support system, and as they continue to grow T.E.A.L. keeps that family/ grassroots feel in everything they do. This is just not another corporate company it is a family. It has been my privilege to work with Pamela, and all the volunteers at T.E.A.L. to help "Tell Every Amazing Lady about Ovarian Cancer.
