I frequently volunteer with Democracy NC. The great staff throughout the state are fierce defenders of the right to vote, clean and open elections. It's non-partisan, and encourages the development of grassroots citizens groups. One (among many) great endeavor was to train volunteer poll monitors in the last election, to record any issues citizens had with voting. This information, added to that gained through a help line they operate, was used in the case now in the courts against the NC Legislature's Voter ID law. They produce some of the best information about voting, and freely distribute this literature to any other groups for use.
Review for The Project On Government Oversight, Inc., Washington, DC, USA
I was delighted when I found POGO on the internet. I value fact-based information, not just advocacy. I'm a citizen who believes that the Pentagon and war are taking too much of our national treasury. The information POGO provides about the inner working of defense contracting, huge expenditures on poor hardware, and revolving door between defense and contracting is very useful.
I trust POGO's information. I read and research issues widely, and I have never seen that they have provided poor material or disinformation.
