We founded The Orinda Community Foundation in early 2010 with the purpose of supporting projects and activities that enhance the quality of life in Orinda. Since then, we have raised over $160,00 to support diverse activities in the arts, community activities, beautification, and support for seniors and youth. These activities include a community wide cleanup day, youth singing performance and writing contests, rides for seniors, a Fourth of July parade and celebration, art acquisitions for public spaces, financial support for civic garden clubs, funding for concerts and opera in the park, lighting for a library art gallery, support for a food bank, a youth Shakespeare program,a youth triathlon, and support for the local chamber of commerce. We have also facilitated partnerships and connections among entities and individuals in Orinda to support these same goals.

All money raised goes back into the community. We have been fortunate to receive strong support from Orinda residents. It is wonderful to see Orindans of all ages, and their guests, gather at the Fourth of July parade, at concerts in the park, work together on the cleanup day, enjoy the Orinda Idol performance, admire the stands of daffodils and poppies, cheer the participants in the triathlon, and view art by local artists in the library gallery.
