Review for Skydog Sanctuary , Malibu, CA, USA
We first learned of Skydog Sanctuary when they were in the process of saving, READ, a mustang in an urgent situation whose very dramatic photo showed a large crevice in his face where his halter had been embedded.
Since then, we have assisted Skydog in rescuing several mustangs including Dream, the starved mustang mare, Sarge, the mustang with curable cancer, the 3 BLM donkeys in a kill pen... with over 80 horses in their care, Skydog has many, many rescue stories.
All of the equines in the care of Skydog have all treatments needed for ultimate health, there is a farrier on staff and vets on the ready - but mostly, the horses live in vital health because they are free to roam in family groups on the 9000 acre ranch.
My favorite aspect of Skydog is their tenacity in trying to reunite mustang family members. This is an extremely difficult task, but they do it. Amazing.
--I've been on their premises, and I can vouch for the ethical nature of all present, the cleanliness and beauty of the facilities.
Top notch.
