Review for Natün Guatemala (formerly Mayan Families), Laguna Beach, CA, USA
It is my pleasure to have spent one month out of two years volunteering for Mayan Families. Their staff is very capable, and helpful, and they all serve to work toward one goal: To provide food, education, clothing, health care, and just about any service they can provide to help the poor people around the mountains and Lake Attitlan in the Panajachel, Guatemala area. I saw first hand children getting fit with shoes that they badly needed. I saw children being educated in a clean, joyful, healthful setting. I saw food being delivered to needy families. I saw the Doctor who works at the main site who takes care of health issues. I saw little ones getting flouride treatments and new toothbrushes. I saw teachers who were interested in helping young children learn to appreciate books. Their staff is well organized, helpful, friendly, and care a lot about helping people. You couldn't ask for a better staff.
