My Nonprofit Reviews

Health Patient
Review for Community of Hope, Inc., Washington, DC, USA
I encountered Community of Hope in 2005. I found myself without employment with escalating blood pressure and no health insurance. I had been the primary caregiver for 3 family members, all suffering from terminal illnesses. A business that I'd developed and ran for more than 20 years was negatively impacted by my inability to keep up and was no longer viable. Community of Hope gave me the health services I so desperately needed and enrolled me in a program to get the necessary prescription medication. I also received counseling to deal with the aftermath of losing my brother, father and aunt and the devastating grief I was experiencing. The staff was so caring and respectful! Exactly what I needed at such a difficult time in my life. I never felt that my financial situation would be a barrier to my receiving the medical attention I needed.
Luckily, I was able secure suitable employment with health benefits within a short time and today my life is back on track. The primary care physician that treated me at Community of Hope was so compassionate and dedicated that even though I have insurance that allows me to see any physician I choose, I have chosen to continue with her, as an insured client, at Community of Hope Health Services. I am very grateful that an organization of this caliber was available to help me when I hit that rocky road on my life's path.
I am a supporter of Community of Hope and I recommend this organization to anyone who wants to reach out and help others in their time of need. The staff, board and volunteers that make Community of Hope run have all been recognized for the work they do and the fiscally sound practices that they use. Any contributions you make will be used to fulfill their mission which is to help others.
