My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for D & R Rescue Inc, Paris, IL, USA
My mom had lost her dog and was looking for another one. I had contacted Karen from D & R Rescue after searching the internet. She was great to work with and began her quest for a compatible pet for my mom.
In the mean time, mom decided to buy a pom/yorkie mix puppy, Jazzi. Jaz was very intertaining and kept my mom laughing at her antics, but she ended up being a bit too energized for mom to handle (mom will be 82 this year).
I contacted Karen again and asked her to continue her search for a dog for mom and told her the story of Jazzi. It wasn't long before Karen called and said she knew of a young couple that were interested in Jaz and that they already had a yorkie that needed a playmate. Karen and I arranged for a meeting half way between our locations. She was just great and assured me that Jaz would have a good home. She even contacted me later to tell me how well Jaz was doing.
Less than a week after our meeting, Karen called and said she thought she had found the perfect dog for mom. It was a Doxie female that had been dropped off at the clinic. The owner had to move to assisted living and her children dropped the dog off on the way there! The little thing was totally lost and heartbroken. Karen sent me a picture and mom and I both thought we needed to take her because she looked so sad.
Once again, Karen and I met and I brought the dog home to mom. She named her Trixie Lady and after a little time of adjusting to a new home and owner, she really began to show her personality. She and mom are a perfect match.
We sent Karen updates and asked her, if possible, to let the previous owner know that her little dog was doing well.
I can't say enough about how much help Karen was and how concerned she was for matching the right dog to suit mom. It was a very rewarding experience and so nice to know that there are people out there like Karen looking out for homeless dogs and finding them the right home.
