We adopted our shih tzu Molly from D&R last year. Karen was amazing to work with. We live in Maryland and were originally trying to adopt in our area. I spent a couple of months applying for different dogs to no avail. The vast majority of rescues would not return my emails, calls, or respond to my applications. I was growing very frustrated until I came across D&R.

Karen was like a breath of fresh air. She was so responsive! She responded to emails immediately, made herself available for phone calls, and answered every single question I had about Molly. She was completely on top of every detail and you could really tell she had Molly's best interest at heart. I was also impressed with the depth of D&R's adoption application. It was very detailed and asked every question you could possibly think of to ensure the dog was going to a good home.

We felt so much confidence in Karen, that we made the 12 hour (one-way) drive from our home in Maryland to D&R to adopt Molly. Molly has now been with us for 9 months and she is a pure joy! We followed Karen's advice on integrating Molly with our our other 7 year old shih tzu Toby and it worked perfectly! Molly and Toby are good friends and get along really well. I would highly recommend adopting from D&R Rescue!
