We recently adopted a new puppy from D & R Rescue. She has been a fantastic addition to our family and we really appreciate the professional, caring approach they took to placing her in our home. D & R staff were very dilligent to follow the proper steps in the process. The application was a careful screening tool, asking us about previous pet ownership, surrender, and making sure we understood the financial committment to adopting a new pet. They also checked references as part of the process. Our new puppy was up to date on shots, records were provided, and came microchipped and spayed. We received a welcome kit with a leash, collar, toys, and coupons for food and other items. We also received specific instructions on when she needed to be seen by a vet again, when to notify her of the name for microchip purposes, and what to do if the placement didn't work out. Fortunately, we won't need to explore that further because the process, the placement, and the transition have all gone so smoothly. I highly recommend D & R for their loving and careful approach to responsible pet ownership.
