My wife and I adopted a dog from D & R Rescue, Inc. Having adopted dogs from rescue groups and shelters in the past, we found working with D & R the best experience we have ever had.

Our beloved standard poodle, Buffie2 had passed away and after grieving for her, we were in search of a replacement. Karen from D & R had placed the picture of an ideal replacement on www.petfinder.org and we fell in love immediately. While we live in New Jersey, we were visiting Michigan and D&R was in Indiana. Rather than reject our request as impossible, Karen cut through all the red tape, asked who our vet was, contacted the vet, and worked with us diligently to make it all happen. She even came in on a Sunday morning to meet my husband on his way back to New Jersey and give him advice about the characteristics of the dog and what we should do. D and R Rescue Inc. handled every detail even down to the dimension of the cage we should get to fit the size of the dog and the car!

We were very impressed with their care and compassion toward the animals and their desire to find the best “human-canine” fit that would be a win-win for both the animal and the owners. We ended up with the best dog possible for us and just love Buffie3. In terms of rescue groups, they exceed the gold standard and we cannot say enough good things about them.
