I had been searching for a new dog to add to our family for several months. In the previous year I had lost my 18 year old dog, 20 year old cat and then in August my mother passed. I really needed a new dog to fill the gaping hole in my heart. My dog, Charlie was in the d&r rescue center when I found him posted on pet finders. When my husband and I went to meet him we found a very clean facility with loving caring staff. He had been neutered and all vaccinations brought up to date. The key however was that he was not living in a shelter environment that created anxiety. He came home with us that day and was able to adjust very quickly. He is truly a part of our family and also very social with other animals. Our experience with the rescue shelter was Gert, they kept him safe and happy until we could adopt him.
