Review for D & R Rescue Inc, Paris, IL, USA
I adopted two dogs from D&R rescue in 2012. I had a great experience both times and am now living with my 2 best buddies. One of the primary reasons that I chose to adopt from D&R was that their dogs are placed with foster families where the dogs are exposed to other dogs, cats, and kids (depending on the dog). By the time the dog is ready to be placed the rescue is aware of the dog's temperment and whether or not it would fit in a particular home. The first dog I adopted was "Dexter". He was just 10 weeks old when I adopted him. I chose him because he was fostered in a home with a large dog and kids. I wanted a dog that would get along our existing dog and my grandaughter. He was all that I was hoping for, but was a little too active for our older dog. I decided to look for another young dog that could keep up with him and because of my experience with D&R Rescue, I decided to use them again. Fortunately, they had a young dog "Ted" that I adopted. Both dogs had been examined by a vet, had their shots and had been neutered before I got them. Karen also called my vet to verify that our existing dog was well cared for. This gave me confidence that her dogs all go to good homes. I had a great experience with D&R Rescue and would recommend them to anyone wanting to adopt a dog.
