Review for D & R Rescue Inc, Paris, IL, USA
I lost my 5-yr-old Dobie Toby unexpectedly just 5 days after having to put my other aged and infirm dog to sleep. I was bereft over these losses! Tried working with the same local doberman rescue org but they had had a change in leadership and I didn't feel the expertise was there after an unpleasant try at fostering-to adopt, So I started looking online and found Bosco on PetFinders. His sad face behind the links of his kennel space said it all: "How did I get in here and how do I get out?"
The head of D & R Rescue, Karen White, was very knowledgable and thorough with every step: both in vetting me out as an adopter and best interests of the dog. She even arranged for the dog to have some time at a foster farm with horses. As whatever dog I got had to be able to live along side horses.
I was so anxious to get this dog I drove up from Louisiana through icey winter blizzard road conditions to get Bosco. I was never diappointed, he is one of the best dogs: incredibly loving and well-behaved yet has the naturally protective quality I seek. I can't imagine the circumstances where someone would give him up.
I renamed him Quinto (as he is my fifth Doberman). He is a love, thank you Karen White and all the other volunteers of D&R Rescue for the work that you do.
