Review for D & R Rescue Inc, Paris, IL, USA
I found my little Stella Luna, whose original name was Chiquita given to her by the rescue company, at Petsmart.
I was helping my grandmother out that day and my dad’s girlfriend (my dad has been divorced for more than 10 years now so it’s all good), gave me a call and told me that she saw two cute little Chihuahua puppies at Petsmart as she was buying food for her cat.
I immediately went to Petsmart after telling my grandmother that it was an emergency, I got there and I saw two cute Chihuahua puppies.
Stella Luna I thought was the cutest and I talked with Karen, the woman who works for R&D, she told me that Stella Luna was the cuddliest of the two puppies there. My dad came into the store, and we decided together that we would buy her.
She only cost us $300 by herself, and another $100 dollars (for pet food and supplies). Either way I thought it was a pretty great deal for a Chihuahua rescue compared to my friend who bought her Chihuahua from a pet store for $1000 dollars.
I was told that Stella Luna was originally from a farm along with her brother, while I’m not sure if it was a puppy mill or not, I am happy to have founded Stella and I am also happy to say that her brother got adopted out too!
Stella Luna is not spoiled by just one or two people, she is loved by about ten to fifteen people! She warms up to people as soon as she gets used to them!
I thank this organization every day for bringing her into my life! It was worth the trip, and I told my grandmother afterwards that I was now the mother of a Chihuahua puppy!
