Review for Snow Leopard Conservancy, Sonoma, CA, USA
The Snow Leopard Conservancy is a remarkable dedicated team, headed by Rodney Jackson and Darla Hillard. Jackson has been one the foremost wildlife biologists in the field -studying this beautiful- and endangered mountain cat for over 30 years. SNC has been innovative in organizing community based conservation strategies in remote areas where snow leopards live - Northern India, Mongolia, Nepal, among the countries that support snow leopard habitat. SLC is a non-profit that has a rare combination of heart and commitment. Their website highlights the kind of studies and projects they do; as well as offering incredible images of wild snow leopards. I myself have benefited directly - seeing two snow leopards in Ladakh India in areas that are part of their community based programs of homestay and livestock corral protection.
