Review for Irving Cares, Irving, TX, USA
The staff at Irving Cares are exceptional, hard-working, and dedicated. Even in 2020, they remained open serving the community of Irving, in the most caring, supportive way possible. Now in 2021, Irving Cares is once again providing all the services which were offered in pre-Covid days. No clients are left unserved even though many volunteers have not yet returned. I am happily helping again, volunteering about 10 years now. It's also the best place for volunteers.

Irving Cares is both a great volunteer opportunity and community services organization. I feel privileged to have given 4-6 hours per week for six years at this well-run food pantry and social services provider in my city. There are so many volunteers who have worked longer and harder than I, and their dedication is contagious! I have met so many caring people, and I plan to stay at IC as long as I can.
The staff is extremely dedicated to the clients - our neighbors - and show appreciation for me each time I am there. I am totally impressed by the Case Managers who lovingly assist an average of 45-65 clients per day, five days a week, exhibiting patience and professionalism. They refer clients to other organizations in our area for special or additional help. The job-help program and weekly employment seminar is important to our people and managed beautifully. Our CEO and her small administrative staff are friendly, dedicated, and adept at keeping all the parts of the machine functioning expertly. Thank you all for the huge job you do so well and for including me. ~~ S. Gans, Irving resident.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Increase the staff and offer the food pantry a few hours on Saturday.
Review for Irving Cares, Irving, TX, USA
I've only been acquainted with Irving Cares in my city for five years. I retired and needed a new mission, a re-purposing of my everyday activities. I chose Irving Cares at first because it is local and close to my home, but now I have found a place, new friends, and a worthwhile volunteer activity. Working with the clients who are my fellow citizens is both rewarding and challenging. IC is small enough for me to know almost everyone. I can participate in the procedures from beginning to end. Getting to assist the dedicated staff members and working side by side with fellow volunteers is a joy.

I love volunteering at Irving Cares. The staff is energetic and extremely caring, with a definite mission : helping residents of our city who find themselves temporarily in need. It is most rewarding to help my fellow citizens in myriad ways at a high-quality local food pantry. The clients are appreciative because they know we are all there for them. Our job is big; the staff is relatively small, but they get the job done every single day with a home-town feeling and approximately 200 happy volunteers.
I've volunteered four years since I retired, and I hope to lend a helping hand for a long time.

I have worked about one and a half years as a volunteer who first greets clients at the door and prepares them and their files before they meet the hard-working Case Managers. This organization does so much wth relatively few staff members. The staff ministers to a large number of Irving clients, trains 100+ volunteers like me, organizes and maintains a great food pantry, communicates with local organizations like the city, schools, churches, and other like-minded social services, has fundraising events, etc. Each and every staff member is serious, caring, and professional. They have been great and welcomed me into their family of hope and service to others. If I could give Irving Cares 10 stars, I would. ~~ S. G., Retired Educator
