Review for Brain Tumor Foundation for Children, Inc., Atlanta, GA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

My son was diagnosed with a golf-ball sized brain tumor on October 31, 2008, when he was just 3 years old. It was the most shocking and devastating event that anyone can ever experience in their lifetime. My mind immediately went blank. I could not think of how I was going to take care of my other children, my husband, or my job. Would I ever be able to return to work? Would I lose my job? What was going to happen to my house? How was I going to pay my bills? The hoildays were coming soon, would my other children spend Thanksgiving in the hospital or get Christmas presents? Those were just a few of the million and one questions that raced through my mind within the first few hours of my son's diagnosis. Fortunately The Brain Tumor Foundation for Children (BTFC) was there to help! Within just DAYS of his diagnosis they were there. Throughout the 4 straight MONTHS that we remained in the hospital they provided meal cards (cafeteria food can be very expensive and really adds up), gift cards, and even Christmas gifts for ALL of my children! BTFC even PAID MY MORTGAGE and CAR NOTE because I had to resign from my job. They are an absolutely AMAZING organization that not only provides financial support, but the emotional support that was so desperately needed!!! My son has been to several hospitals in several different cities and I must say that BTFC has been the absolute best! They are a true blessing from God and I am so grateful for all that they have done, and continue to do. Even though we are 4 years into our fight with cancer the BTFC is still as active and helpful as they were from day 1. Thank you BTFC - you are a gift from God!
