Review for Az Blankets 4 Kids Inc, Mesa, AZ, USA
AZ Blankets 4 Kids is an Arizona non-profit group that provides handmade quilts and blankets as gifts to ill and traumatized children in the Phoenix metropolitan area. We are able to accomplish this by having a group of dedicated Board Members and wonderful volunteers! Board members' duties are: to supervise construction of quilts at Quilting Bees and sewing groups. Board members also visit prospective sewing groups and agencies who receive our blankets/quilts. Board members supervise distribution of blankets to agencies, and pickup of blankets from quilting/fabric stores in the Phoenix metro area. Board members also publicize our events, seek grants from individuals and foundations, and keep our books and membership records/roster. We have approzimately 40 agencies that receive quilts from us, and approximately 30 different groups sew quilts for us. We hold 7-9 Quilting Bees each year and supervise construction of blankets at these bees. All of this is done on a shoestring budget, with many volunteers. We strive to provide a quality blanket or quilt for every child-- made with love!

Review for United Food Bank, Mesa, AZ, USA
United Food Bank is an amazing group of people--it does so much with so little! 98% of money coming in goes towards services and programs--getting food out to UFB's member agencies and providing food-filled backpacks for schoolkids on Fridays, and many other programs. UFB is able to do all this work because they have very dedicated staff, and many volunteers. If you donate $1.00, you will be providing 4.5 meals for hungry people in their service area--because UFB can leverage the money you give and make it go so much further! It amazed me when I found out that 1 in 4 kids in Arizona is food insecure--not knowing where their next meal will come from. (the situation is almost as bad for Seniors). UFB especially needs money and food donations when the holidays are over--many people give to food banks around Thanksgiving or Christmas. The need is great all year round....any donation will go very far!

Review for HALO Animal Rescue, Phoenix, AZ, USA
We adopted our Doberman mix Ralph from HALO in January 2012. We were impressed with the shelter and personnel. animals were very well taken care of, and Ralph was happy and got along well with our other dog in the play area. We took Ralph home with us that day, and he and Precious are best buddies now! Fortunately Ralph finding his 'fur-ever' home with us meant that another dog could take his place in the kennel and be adopted too. Great group!
