Review for Natün Guatemala (formerly Mayan Families), Laguna Beach, CA, USA
We went down to Guatemala as part of my daughter's heritage; she was born there and is beginning to ask questions about her birth history. We spent 2 days volunteering with Mayan Families. They are an impressive organization. We were able to spend time in the preschool, my husband took photos of all 60+ children, the teachers, and some of the parents too. They children are delightful and happily engaged with their teachers and visitors. The school is bright, cheerful and a welcoming place. We also had the privelege of helping to install 2 stoves in the homes of the town of San Antonio Palopo. The families were very grateful to have an efficient stove for their families to use. Mayan Families reaches out to the most in need. We are sponsoring one of the families so their little boy can go to school and get a nutritious meal everyday ( a luxury by their standards). Mayan Families also works to rescue to many stray animals that one inevitebly sees throughout the streets. We will most definitly be back!
