Review for Jewish Family Service of San Diego, San Diego, CA, USA
I volunteer for Foodmobile and delivered food to an 84 year-old-widow who had been in bad health most of her life. A back problem forced her to stay in her home most of the time. She told me she had been a very social person, was always going places, doing things, and seeing people. With her injury, she became very isolated, depressed and anxious. She was not able to shop for food or prepare meals because of her physical limitations. She called Foodmobile and found new friends. I really feel like we not only fed her body, but her soul!
