Review for Animal Place, Grass Valley, CA, USA
The Animal Place in Grass Valley provides homes for abused, neglected or abandoned farm animals...sheep, cows, goats, rabbits, pigs, etc. most types of animals you would find on a farm. The Animal Place also provides education for the general public and school-age children regarding the animal protein industry, humane treatment of animals, vegitarian cooking classes and so forth. I have been a volunteer and donor for a couple years now and it's been a terrific experience interacting with the animals, cleaning barns, and assisting the professional permanent staff. The Animal Place is very well-managed and caring facility that's been in existence for about 24 years. I highly recommend any support humans can give to this wonderful rescue operation.

I think it's very well managed now. I just wish The Animal Place had more recognition and was able to raise more funding to support thier important work.

Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)
I learned a lot about the hard work it requires to properly care for farm animals in order to keep them strong and healthy. All the small staff that works there are very professional and truly feel they are making a difference.
How did this volunteer experience make you feel?
Makes me feel god whenever I can help out in any way, whether working at teh ranch or just donating a few bucks. If I had Romney's money, I'd give a million or two to The Animal Place.
