Review for Desert Cat Rescue & Sanctuary Of Arizona - DCRSA, Thatcher, AZ, USA

Rating: 5 stars

We ae a state wide non-profit agency with a FEMA Disaster Medical REsponse Team inside.
This nonprofit has been one of our most important partners in helpig the vulnerable community on the East side of the state!

They have done so much that I ,as Gov Doug Ducey's State Citizen Corp Councll, Vice -President have asked the Founders to join our state team to act to make Arizona a more responsive place for Animals and Their Pets!
Their work for Veterans Has Been out standing!

I helped this organization with Foster families before I had my strokes in Arizona.

Do you know that veterans (and others) will do things for their beloved pets, that they will not do for themselves? By helping them to provide a resource to keep their pets safe when they are away - there is peace of mind and at least one happy soul waiting for them to return!

Everybody can do SOMETHIN! From their bed, wheelchair, walker or home.
What can you do to say thank you to these beloved veterans who give us so much in return?

Take a look at a Veterans Stand down (actually going to occur this Thursday 3/17/2022) to see how much the veterans treasure their beloved pets in Arizona!

We are so proud to be a partner of this rural nonprofit, that does so much for their county and surrounding area! Please check their Platinum guidestar page: https://www.guidestar.org/profile/47-3983524 to see how much they do for pets and their owners!

One thing you can do to help, is to volunteer for 10 seconds by liking their facebook page and sharing their posts to your social media page.

Not only are we honored to be a partner, but we consider them to be one of the top rescues in Arizona!

Please help this community become stronger during this pandemic by supporting their programs in what ever way resonates with you, from your home or office, from a bed, wheelchair, walker or your life. By your time to volutunteers or your connections to groups, businessess or communities to help others live a life that is loved by a four-legged soul who helps to keep eyes looking forward, not back in grief!

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Help them find more cash money to have more resrouces to reach more people in this econimically challenged County!

When I heard this little nonprofit and not only partnered with Desert C, at Rescue to serve three counties in three days, I was even more amazed that they took on working in some of the economically challeged areas to help pets stay at home and not bring more litters into the world already over populated with animals waiting to be adopted!.

They did this during the Covid 19 Pandemic~!

This group has definitely made it to our priority support list for nonprofits!

While we first met over our love of providing services to Veterans, we quickly because enamored with their determination to aid those in crisis/disasters help themselves, from special need communities . Beside Veterans, seniors, disabled, those who live alone or with illnesses and more, benefiting from their"age disruption" for seniors, working with at risk women, developing housing and agricultural entrepreneurship, sustainable lifestyles and more. like our mission, instead of giving fish - they teach fishing! Helping people to help themselves!
We look forward to working together to help people learn resiliency, teamwork, problem solving, and greater communication in our Arizona Communities!

This non profit is one of the most community based organizations in Arizona , doing almost miraculous programs on little cash donations from the community. Pet ownership, sixty-eight percent of U.S. households, or about 85 million families, own a pet, according to the 2017-2018 National Pet Owners Survey conducted by the American Pet Products Association (APPA). This is up from 56 percent of U.S. households in 1988, the first year the survey was conducted. Our experiences serving Arizona is that the rural community pet statistics in AZ is higher.

We are thrilled to have this Non profit as a state partner, setting an example for the rest of the state of how Urban and rural non profits can work together for the good of those rural communities. Please see them at Guidestar.org to look at their programs and financial statements to provide further support!

An incredible group of people that work to help give donations to other agencies that are doing great tings for the animals in Arizona. This group of people know that it takes more then a good heart and caring for the animals to run a successful non-profit. they are prepared to help with resources and support to help management in other agencies fill the gaps.
Please support the efforts and projects of this wonderful group of dedicated volunteers!

We love being a fellow non-profit that supports this wonderful agency that does so much in one of the poorest communities in the state!

The are always using innovative ways to solve the many problems that tend to occur for a rual non-profit but the really need the support and donations of a commuity that loves animals and wants them to go to loving homes Per haps the thing we love most, is how the will take in the sick and disabled, to get them well and into forever homes!

This is one of the best non-profits in Arizona with their programs, their collaborations, their outreach to the communities they served and their attitude to use cutting edge techniques with the animals whose lives they save! Aside from being one of the most worth while organizations that I have ever volunteered with, this organization has been a role model for non-profit excellence in Arizona. Participating in the Leadership Council for the Alliance of Arizona Non-profits, Founder Pam Gaber has won numerous Business and Leadership Awards in this state. Much f the success of my non-profit has come from the best practices that she has so graciously share to so many.

With the simple concept of "Stop the cycle of abuse!" This agency has grown to work with so many other Non-profits working with children that are abused in the Valley of the Sun, a population of4.5 million people (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoenix_metropolitan_area) and Tucson as well.

The affect they are having not only on the children then have helped over 11 years, but on the adult population, creating awareness and a voice that is growing to cal to action, prevention for this (previously) unspeakable act! We ask that funders, continue to help keep this vibrant agency alive and growing with their cash donations and community support!

It is our honor to partner with this outstanding agency who has done so much good n the Arizona community, lead by an Executive Officer that so graciously provides guidance to other non-profits to help them grow quickly and effectively!

.Lost Our Home Pet Rescue's founder and director, Jodi Polanski, who was honored for being one of 30 of the Phoenix Business Journal's 2016 Outstanding Women in Business, also s a graduate of ASU's Lodestar Non-Profit School and an untiring member of the Business Leadership of Arizona.

While it is unfortunate, that some people don't understand the politics of food products and some company's need to protect themselves from liability as well as a profit strategy, by having people throw out food and buy more, we too are blessed by companies giving us pet products past the "sell by " date to able to give to others who are having challenges and are facing giving up their beloved pets.Because of this we have been able to give $675,000 worth of pet food and pet items to 11 counties in Arizona, and count Lost our Home as one of our role models. Interested people can read more here: http://www.emptybowlpetfoodpantry.org/pet-food-safety.html and don't forget to follow the links to learn how some companies prosper by playing to our fears.

Congratulations as well, on being a Guidestar Gold Star member for your agency transparency. http://www.guidestar.org/profile/37-1589959 We suspect that you have also been chosen to apply for the Platinum rating, to appear in a few months.

I am so honored to have worked with this non-profit for over 10 years to help pets and their humans. The Executive director, Linda Blakley and I came together to help problem dogs on a yahoo email list that served over 25,000 from around the world, who came in solved their problem and left, ~ and still today currently has over 3,000 members.

This agency's unique approach, of helping pets to stay in their homes instead of the traditional method of waiting for them to be homeless makes them one of Iowa's most valuable non-profits. We are so grateful for the international support that has saved so many lives that this excellent stand for and does!

We are proud to support this non-profit as one of our partner agencies. We at Animals in Disaster, Empty Bowl Pet Food Pantry are blessed to be given $675,000 of goods tp distribute in Arizona from the wealth of Phoenix (2014 IRS990). When we are giving healthy pet food and veterinary pet food we give some to this wonderful rescue that cares for so many of the abandoned pets in this county. At a poverty rate of 28%, this Rescue has taken on the hardest job of operating in the most rural areas between Benson and Sierra Vista .They are a member of PACC911 to raise the chances of the animals they rescue getting adopted.
Because they save the animals we care for the most: seniors, sick/injured and disabled. We are proud to add our vote to the others FOR this Outstanding Rescue!

AS shelters do, this one is a leader in the US that I would give anything to have duplicated across the United States! The ability to deal with the challenging situations that pets and their owners sometimes have has been demonstrated well over ten years of service to the Iowa community. Further, we were blessed to have Linda Blakely, the President of this shelter, join our yahoo problem dog email list that grew to service over 25,000 people and still is at 3,000 people with problem dogs now.
She quickly rose to the top managing that email list when the owner had a stroke, helping people online line around the world and joining/managing the 59 person leadership lkst that grew out of the basic group!
Her insights have helped thousands of people with their pets when their owners were about to give up their pets.
Please TAKE A MOMENT TO join donate a few dollars to this outstanding animal sactuary or even join their Facebook here to share their posts!
