Review for The PRASAD Project, Inc., Liberty, NY, USA
I have been involved with the PRASAD Project since the beginning in 1992 and have served non stop since then. I am happy to provide this "pro bono " support to the organization that serves so many people in India , Mexico and the US. The PRASAD Project is a volunteer based organization and it started with all board members. we do have staff and in a very limited number as we want 94% of each donation to go directly to the programs!
PRASAD changes life not only because of the quality of its services , much more because they are provided with love and care.
PRASAD commitment is to the serve the communities where we are present as long as it is needed. We have a rule of not starting a new activity without being sure that we will be able to support it over time.
More Feedback
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
meeting women of the self help groups in India. a self help group is made of 10 to 15 women that have decided to get together put some savings together. PRASAD provide training and support ( for example bookkeeping , getting government support...) The self help group either decide to start a common business ( making candles, organizing weddings, renting equipments...) or lend money to a member for a specific purpose and at a low rate. Today Prasad overlook more than 300 of such groups in India.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
have fundraising offices in countries where we have none such as Germany, England .... attract more young adults and inspire them to serve as volunteer in an NGO
