Review for Rock And Wrap It Up Inc, Cedarhurst, NY, USA
Rock and Wrap It Up! Is an amazing anti poverty organization that works with Music Groups, Sports Teams, Schools, Hotels and Film and Television Productions to recover food and other assets and bring them to Homeless Shelters and Soup Kitchens. They have organized the entire NHL League to have all of the teams donate leftover food from concession stands, in the arenas, to local charities. In addition to the 30 teams of the NHL, there are many Baseball, Basketball and Soccer teams around the country that also donate there food because of Rock and Wrap It Up! I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Getting involved with picking up food and delivering it to people in need. It's the greatest feeling to help others and see the result
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Try and get more funding to hire people. They are so short handed and only through volunteers can they exist. Their office is in the CEO's home.

Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)
Absolutely. I am now totally familiar with the production of film and television shows and how stadiums and arenas provide food to the people. I have made many friends. When I travel around the country, I try to stop by the charities that I have only talked on the phone with. I always get a tremendous welcome when we finally meet.
How did this volunteer experience make you feel?
It's the greatest feeling in the world knowing you helping some many people on a daily basis. I'm a retired electrician . I'm on disability after an on the job accident and volunteering for this organization has been a godsent. I think more retired people should consider volunteer work. It will bring joy to their lives
