My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Tierra Sagrada The Sacred Earth Foundation, Florissant, CO, USA
I am honored to be on the board of such a heart-felt grassroots organization! Founder and president, Patricia Turner, has made it her life's mission to bring forth the voices of some of the most underserved and ignored populations on this planet, those of indigenous peoples. In addition, she is committed to encouraging practices that engage and respect the Earth. As a psychologist who comes from an ecopsychological and integrative perspective, I cannot speak strongly enough about the need to support this organization in the mosaic of grant recipients. With more funding, Tierra Sagrada The Sacred Earth Foundation, can branch out into other domains of the local and global community, including, but not limited to integrative healthcare.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
bringing those from diverse backgrounds together and providing venues for communication and education.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
educational events in the natural environment with elders from various parts of the world and collaborative compassion-based practices.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
of the highest quality. I have rarely seen individuals so eager to put in days and months of dedication and hard work in order to create and sustain events, even when they have full-time jobs in other venues.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
perhaps have a central location for events and for administrative purposes. It could have a small staff that could help organize and facilitate ongoing educational and cultural events as well as public relations in regard to such events.
