Review for HALO Animal Rescue, Phoenix, AZ, USA
After the heartbreak of having my 13+ year old Lab, PTS I wanted to wait a while before considering another dog. I knew, that when the time came, I would adopt from a shelter.
Stopping by HALO, when I thought it just might be time to start looking...
I was looking for a dog, not quite as big as a Lab, but almost. And I didn't want a youngster (I am in my early 60's & didn't want a pup who would out live me)
I noticed and smiled at an older chihuahua mix, who reminded me of a dog that I had many years ago. However, not really finding a dog that "called out" to me, I went home.
But I thought about that little old Chihuahua mix.... She was 12 years old, and she had looked so sad and uncertain.... and I re-capped the memories of the other little white Chi that I had so many years ago.
The next day, I returned to HALO. We took "Lexi" out to the yard. She
really didn't do much, didn't show much interest in me. Again, I went home. But I kept thinking about her. How confused she must be, to be given up after 12 years with one owner. I decided I would give her a try.
I'm not sorry! She absolutely adores "me!" and will do anything to please me! Her second favorite person is my granddaughter.
She has learned to accept the foster cats that I care for. And she is
one active little "senior" dog!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Their care & concern of placement. And the fact that they had dental work done on her before I had even decided to adopt
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
can't think of anything
