Review for Native American Jump Start, Jackson, WY, USA
Native American Jump Start is an amazing organization that supports and provides many opportunities for Native Americans to take advantage of opportunities for training, education, and exploration that would not otherwise be available to them. We have worked with NAJS in our work force development program for young adults on Pine Ridge Reservation. They have helped to prepare young Lakota people for experiences with different cultures and helped people from other cultures learn more about the Lakota. They also have developed much needed training programs with excellent curriculum and instruction for the Lakota youth. Ray Southworth, a board member, was excellent to work with and made it much easier for the young people to navigate a transition to working with people from other cultures but also for preparing for the work world.
There are few organizations that offer this kind of help to Natives and fortunately NAJS offers excellent programs and instructors.
Review for Everybody Solar, Temecula, CA, USA
We have been working with Everybody Solar for several years. They have installed solar on both the Youth Center and The Buffalo House (A meat processing facility) on Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota . We are now working toward solar power for the entire Reservation. Pine Ridge is the poorest place in the US and the installation of solar power will allow the 40,000 people who live there to have affordable electricity and heat all year round where currently a large portion of the population spends some period of time during the winter without those necessary utilities.
Everybody solar is an amazing organization with fantastic people to work with. The goals of the organization benefit the recipients of solar power and also our environment.
Review for Everybody Solar, Temecula, CA, USA
I am the Director of a non-profit that works with the Lakota on Pine Ridge Reservation. We are working with Everybody Solar to install solar on both the Youth Center and the meat processing plant known as The Buffalo House. Both of these facilities were recently built with Lakota Labor and funds raised by One Spirit. Everybody Solar has been fantastic to work with to find funds and install solar on both buildings thus making these facilities much more energy efficient and financially feasible for the Tribe and the community to support going forward. Pine Ridge is the poorest place in the US but it is inhabited by people with great heart and determination. Everybody Solar has worked diligently to find funds and to work with the Lakota people to make solar possible. The installation of solar will serve as a model for all buildings to enhance efficiency and to protect the environment.
I can't begin to say enough good things about Everybody Solar people, their diligence, their ability to get things done, their determination to spread solar as far as possible and protect the earth. It is pure pleasure to work with them.
