My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for American Prairie, Bozeman, MT, USA
The American Prairie Foundation (aka American Prairie Reserve) is surely one of the most visionary conservation organizations ever. It is acquiring and restoring lands on the eastern Montana Great Plains with a goal of connecting to and adding to the Charles M Russell National Wildlife Refuge and the Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument, eventually creating a 3.5 million acre natural area, resembling what this region was like in the days of Lewis and Clark. APF is a well run organization. It has a strong list of supporters and scientific advisors. It has encouragement from the World Wildlife Fund and the National Geographic Society.

Review for Center for Biological Diversity Inc, Tucson, AZ, USA
The Center for Biological Diversity is far and away the most effective of the fifty-plus conservation organizations that I have contributed to during the past twenty years. With its small administrative staff and a world of "guts", the Center takes on challenging problems against some of the toughest opponents, ranging from huge corporations to governmental agencies and entrenched politicians. On top of that, they actually win most of these batlles! I just love them!!
