Review for Diabetes Foundation, Mahwah, NJ, USA
I've been unemployed for 12 mos., the longest period of time w/o a job in my life. I was so grateful to find a volunteer opportunity at DFI. I was so impressed by the friendly, professional demeanor of the staff and the Executive Director is so approachable and empathetic. After a few hours in the office observing the staff at work, I could readily see that they are sincerely committed to the Foundation's recipients and so appreciative of the donors. Its a pleasure to be among such dedicated individuals.
I had no idea all the work that is required to create a large, fundraising event. It takes lots of energy to make it a success. The Foundation will have their 22nd Golf Outing this Sept., the staff has been preparing for it since last year!

the DFI informs NJ residents about their program through Health Fairs, etc. The Foundation is listed as a Volunteer Opportunity site in Bergen County.

I would hope that the DFI gains more donations to expand their visibility in NJ and publize their contribution to keeping diabetic individuals on medication.
