The people who work and volunteer at the Diabetes Foundation truly believe in their mission. I have been a volunteer for over a year and I am impressed by the dedication of everyone towards the cause of helping those with diabetes. It is a friendly yet professional place to work at.
If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. The Diabetes Foundation is one of the most dedicated and hard-working non-profit organizations I have ever volunteered for. Its incredible and caring staff makes you even more passionate about the work that is done for individuals struggling with Diabetes.
They go above and beyond possible measures of assistant. The patients they are able to assist seem very satisfied. I am grateful to be volunteering for such a devoted organization.
Volunteering at the DFI has just been an amazing experience. Although being in medical school doesn't allow much time to do any extra-curricular activities, every chance I get to participate, I do! After working with Roberta and Dr. Sokol with medical assistance applications, helping manage health fairs, attending public education meetings, and creating flyers for various fundraising events, I have learned a great deal as well as made many new friends.
The staff at the DFI is amazing- very friendly, very outgoing and very understanding. Even if volunteering two days a week is all you can do, they are willing to take your help!
The experiences I have gained volunteering at the DFI has changed my perspective in the field of medicine I want to partake in. I am leaning toward endocrinology and diabetology as my line of profession. Thanks, DFI !
Volunteering at the Diabetes Foundation has been a very fullfilling experience. I am a student, as well as work full time leaving me with not so much time to help out. Everyone at the Diabetes Foundation, however, were very welcoming to me working easily around my schedule. From the beginning they have been very appreciative of my help and always make me feel comfortable to ask questions, etc. My mother has had Type 1 Diabetes for over 30 years and the Diabetes Foundation, knowing that, has also allowed me to use any resources I would find helpful for my mother. The organization is very helpful to people with Diabetes, allowing them to get short term medicine and care and also helping them get on a long term plan for their diabetes care. Volunteering for them makes me feel like I'm making a difference and their healthy atmosphere is even more comforting.
The Diabetes Foundation is truly a worthy non-profit organization. They do so much for diabetics in the community. As a volunteer, I experienced first hand how under/uninsured diabetics who have nowhere else to turn to get vital medications and supplies for free.
It struck me how much they really care for their cause of helping these people as quickly as possible and to also educate everyone about this terrible disease - how to live with it and how to prevent it.
It is a GREAT environment to volunteer in. They really appreciate and treat volunteers great. They also do everything they can to make sure you have work that you are interested in and can also learn from. I would highly recommend this for college students looking for interneships - especially if this is remotely in your field, you will take a way a lot.
I've been volunteering for the Diabetes Foundation for ten months. I am continually impressed with the organization's passion and generosity. I am particularly fond of how the foundation focuses on helping diabetics in need as quickly and efficiently as possible. The staff communicates with local health care representatives, social workers, community leaders and the like on a daily basis. Donations are allocated to medical assistance and education directly within our communities.
The Diabetes Foundation cares about its volunteers just as much as its cause. The staff respects the volunteers, trains them well, and allows them to work independently and creatively. It has been a pleasure and privilege to work with this organization and I look forward to many more opportunities to raise awareness and funding for diabetes together.
I am a volunteer for The Diabetes Foundation and I'm so impressed how kind and caring the people who both run the foundation and volunteer for it are. Everybody everybody works until the job is done. Whether it be setting up a fund raiser, mailings, following up with patients and care takers, or getting the word out about our foundation to help as many people as possible and in order to raise money to continue helping people. This is an excellent nonprofit organization!
I have been volunteering with DFI for nearly a year. They are wonderful at supporting people with diabetes. They are very caring and helpful, and will go above and beyound to help the patients. It's impressive to see the amount of time and energy they dedicate to organizing health fairs and fundraisings.
The work environment is very friendly, at the same time professional. They are respectful and appreciative of the work we do. I'm happy to be a small part of this organization.
I applied to volunteer for this company for the purpose of giving back to the community in a non profitable way, but I did not expect to get so much back from them in return. I have received many intangibles that I greatly appreciate, such as friendship from fellow volunteers both in the organization and outside during health fairs. I enjoy being able to see curiosity and enthusiasm in the faces of the local communities when explaining what the Diabetes Foundation offers them. Unfortunately, due to the scheduling of my classes and summer rotations, I am limited to the amount of volunteering I am able to offer. However, I feel that the amount that I do, benefits the public significantly. I am very appreciative of the amount of public service I am able to offer and its all thanks to the Diabetes Foundation.
The reality of diabetes really hit me when I found out my boyfriend of seven years was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes last year. I decided I wanted to make a difference and really try to do my best in educating and helping people who are effected by this disease. When I found the diabetes foundation I was amazed by the work they do. The staff is truely dedicated to helping people who's lifes are effected by diabetes. They are so wonderful and will go above and beyond peoples expectations. This is truely a fantastic organization and I am blessed to get to say I am apart of it.
I have been volunteering with my adult clients for more than 2 years with the DF. They are wonderful people who have been helping us to gain more independence. They are wonderful at supporting people with Diabetes, providing anything and everything they need. I am happy to be a part of this group!

I am a Social Worker at a hospital and have been working in collaboration with The Diabetes Foundation for over 3 years. The staff is very helpful, caring and dedicated. They have help my patients so much, specially during these rough times of financial situations we are living. My experience with The Diabetes Foundation has been very gratifying. Thank you Diabetes Foundation staff!!!!
The people at the Diabetes Foundation are some of the most passionate, professional people I have worked with. I have been a volunteer there for only a few months but it has been a completely rewarding and productive experience.
They have always made themselves available to discuss their needs and requirements for system development.
I've been unemployed for 12 mos., the longest period of time w/o a job in my life. I was so grateful to find a volunteer opportunity at DFI. I was so impressed by the friendly, professional demeanor of the staff and the Executive Director is so approachable and empathetic. After a few hours in the office observing the staff at work, I could readily see that they are sincerely committed to the Foundation's recipients and so appreciative of the donors. Its a pleasure to be among such dedicated individuals.
I had no idea all the work that is required to create a large, fundraising event. It takes lots of energy to make it a success. The Foundation will have their 22nd Golf Outing this Sept., the staff has been preparing for it since last year!
