Review for Tyler Type One Diabetes Foundation, Tyler, TX, USA
Tyler Type One is an incredible organization that reaches out to newly diagnosed families as well as being a support group for all insulin dependent families. When you hear the news that your child will forever be required to give himself shots just to live for the rest of their lives and check their blood 8-10 times and day and if he makes a mistake it can be life threatening --- You are in shock and overwhelmed. Tyler Type One continues to serve through educating families, connecting families, and providing resources! I could not have imagined how alone my son would now feel without this amazing organization to encourage and educate him. They are also doing an amazing job to raise awareness in our community about the realities of being insulin dependent for life.

When my son was diagnosed, I didn't have any idea where to turn or what to say as I looked into the tear filled eyes of my son through my tears-- it was such a blessing when a Tyler Type One member, Margie Boyd and her son, walked through the door with big smiles and a huge basket of goodies! It was amazing to be met right there in the Doctor's office, IV in my son's arm and a room full of emotion. They were a huge blessing of knowledge and concern. They have continued to provide education and support.
