Review for Life Group LA Inc, West Hollywood, CA, USA

I have been working in HIV since 1986. I have had the pleasure of working with The Life Group L A for the past 5 years.

The weekend seminars produced by The Life Group are in my opinion the best resource for HIV patient education in the county of Los Angeles.

If you are interested in providing financial, volunteer, or in-kind support to an organization that profoundly impacts the lives of people living with HIV - The Life Group LA is an outstanding choice. You can be confident that your gift will be put to great use.

It is also important to understand that this organization is very small mostly everyone involved is VOLUNTEERING their time, because they believe in the importance of this work.

The Executive Director's leadership is passionate and trustworthy.

Please do what you can to support this worthwhile and successful organization. You will be glad you did.

Increase the staff size. More funding. Larger budget.

What is unique about this organization?

It is an organization that is very successful at partnering. The success of the programs depends upon communication and collaboration with other HIV service providers. This is one of the challenges that we are asked to address in out National HIV AIDS Strategy.

Role:  Professional with expertise in this field & I have presented on basic HIV topics for the participants attending the programs. My company has been a sponsor of education programs as well as fundraising/awareness events.

Review for Let there Be Hope Medical Research Institute, Sun City, AZ, USA

I began working in HIV in 1986 when there were no medications available to treat this virus. Today we have many medications to treat HIV and patients can taking their medications can expect to be able to live a normal and productive life.

However only 1 out of 5 patients has reached this success in the US. Many resource poor nations cannot afford these life saving medications. A baby is infected every minute of every day. There have been 35 million deaths and 75 million infections. We need a cure and a vaccine.

Let There Be Hope is an organization dedicate to the research that needs to be continued in HIV. Their leadership is creative, experienced and dedicate. As we have learned many lessons over the years fighting HIV, the success of their work will have the potential to impact many other disease states as well.

I have personally seen the scientists working in the labratory, collaborating with physicians in practice and reviewed publication of the success of their findings.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Expand the research team.

Role:  Professional with expertise in this field & I have been involved in Let There Be Hope since it's inception. I have made personal donations as well as raised awareness about the work being done and organized all of the major fund raisers for this orgainization.
