We had the opportunity to adopt sweet "Wonton" from Lost Paws Rescue in April 2023. He has been a joy for our family and friends. Yvette and the volunteers were all very friendly and helpful throughout the process. There are so so many pups needing homes and this rescue recognizes the importance of ensuring they find a good loving home that can provide for their needs without making it a difficult and emotional roll-a-coaster to go through. The adoption fee is very reasonable, not to mention the offset for what they cover for remaining vaccines and spayed/neutering. Highly recommend LPRT for finding your next fuzzy buddy.Happy fur bliss parents!

This organisation openly admits to fraudulently mis-classifying dangerous dog breeds for the sake of insurance fraud.

Included with this post is a picture of an exchange with the shelter.

Purposely mis-classifying breeds is not only fraud but is inherently dishonest to the people adopting. No matter what opinion you have regarding certain breeds, you have the right to know what animal you are adopting. If they are willing to lie so brazenly about what breed they are adopting out, who knows what else they are willing to lie about regarding their animals.

We have adopted 2 dogs from the Southlake Petsmart location over the years and both have been very sick. Our first had an overwhelming amount of worms, 5 different types that required a significant amount of care. He was sold to us as in good health but within days he was overcome with the worms inside his little puppy body.

We went through their recommended vet who was unable to get him well and ultimately had to turn to our own vet for treatment.

Our second dog arrived with a severe case of pneumonia that was not disclosed. Because we took the dog immediately to our vet (the puppy was in a coughing fit at 4 in the morning) , the rescue group said they would not cover the full amount of her medical care. We paid 300 for the dog and 800 for vet bills. Lost Paws offered us 400 even though they sold us a sick dog.

Now we have to monitor our other pets because pneumonia is very contagious. Not to mention 2 weeks of nurturing a sick puppy.

The rescue owner said we could return the dog but we are not going to do that. I'm concerned she wanted us to return a highly contagious sick puppy to petsmart during an adoption day, but that is kind of indicative of their organization I guess.

I am disappointed that our newest addition is so sick, and I'm disappointed that this group refuses to make us financially whole when they sold us a dog that was sick. Twice.

The rescue group owner said we should have used their vets however how can you do that at 4 in the morning when you have a sick puppy. We are being penalized for emergency care from a dog that was sick when they were responsible for it.

Worried about my dog and sad about this whole process.

I lost my 19 yr old min pin 3 years ago and was hesitant to get another pet while I was still working full time. I would casually search Petfinder for a small dog and would find one I was interested in, fill out the application and never hear a word from anyone. Did that 4 times and gave up not really knowing what the problem was. Started looking again a few months ago and ran across the sweet faced Turbo and filled out the application not expecting much. I received an email that day from Yvette telling me I could meet him at the local Petsmart on Saturday. Went there and he was exactly what I was looking for. Filling out papers was very quick and easy and everyone there was helpful and so much fun to work with. Took Turbo home that day and he has been just wonderful. I highly recommend Lost Paws Rescue of Texas.

In 2022, we lost our dog of 14 yrs to illness, and we thought we would not adopt again, or at least for a year. So since my husband of 27 yrs who is a Disabled Veteran, I decided to get him a emotional support dog, so we found our first pet with your company and her name is Loki, she is now officially a year old now and within the year, we adopted to more pups from your agency, since I wanted all of them to be able to grow up together, so adopted Myko, and then one later we found another puppy you had and I just had to have him to complete our family, and his name is Zeus, so along with our cat who is 18 yrs old, all get along and all hang out on the patio looking at the world go by, and we are training our three dogs to go on road trips with us. They have all been to Broken Bow, OK for weekend at a cabin with us.
thank you Lost Paws, we love all our kids and all will grown old with us.

I adopted two dogs in August 2022-Sophia and Winston (previously Princeton). We went to adopt Sophia but found out that Winston actually came from the same home. We went home with two wonderful dogs that couldn't fit more perfect into our family. It was a simple process and they even paid for Winston's follow up visit with the vet. This is a great organization to adopt from.

Adopted a wonderful little dog Sept 2022, Faye, who is now Skeeter. Appreciate their honesty in her background, and within 3 days she fit in perfectly. A perfect combo of couch potato and snuggle companion! Found her online and the adoption process was efficient and I could tell they care about who adopts their dogs. Great organization!

I'd like to thank Lost Paws for rescuing my wonderful dog, Apollo (now called Scooter). The process was very easy - I applied for him online, then had the opportunity to meet him at a PetSmart adoption event, where I filled in the paperwork and took him home that day. I am familiar with many rescue organizations/shelters and I have found Lost Paws have always been the most responsive and helpful - they truly have an amazing team of volunteers. They even provided support and advice after the adoption. Scooter has gone from strength to strength since he came home, it's so rewarding to see him coming out of his shell. I cannot recommend Lost Paws enough.

The director is non-responsive. Her assistant will respond once, but not again. A friend made a generous donation and later found a dog in need. They were of no help after pleading for assistance. It wasn't a space issue - the people just didn't want to help the dog or person who had donated so much time and money.

We found our lovely Penny at Lost Paws Rescue when we went to look at dogs at Petsmart. The kids were devastated when we lost our chihuahua of 12 years in May and we were hoping to eventually add a dog back to the family but when we saw Penny we knew she was the one. Yvette was super sweet and helpful. She knew a lot about all of the dogs at the rescue. The process was simple becuase we had already filled out the paperwork online prior to our visit. Penny is a sweet dog who was well taken care of. If we were to ever consider adopting again, it would be with Lost Paws.

I found Lost Paws Rescue online while looking for chihuahua puppies. I drove over an hour to get to their Southlake location. I was impressed to see the level of cleanliness, organization, and knowledge level of even the volunteers that we met. Although June Bug was not our first choice, after 30 seconds with her she was the one!

The level of communication and quick responses to questions are top notch, especially for a non-profit! They’ve continued to check on June Bug’s progress!

From start to finish, Lost Paws Rescue has demonstrated an impeccable level of service and concern for finding homes for lost animals!

We adopted this little guy to join our family. This organization is really great. The adoption process goes smoothly. The dogs are well cared for before adoption. They check up with the afdoped families. This guy, Mikey is the 2nd baby we've adopted from Lost Paws. This is a happy ending for us all.

I adopted Beau, who is a Great Pyrenees/Lab mix, from Lost Paws in October 2021. I saw Beau on Petfinder, filled out an adoption application, and was contacted by Lost Paws the next morning, notifying me that I was a good fit for Beau. He is the sweetest, most loving, and funniest dog I've ever owned - I just adore him! Lost Paws went above and beyond to help me adopt Beau, which I really appreciate. Had Yvette not emailed me Saturday morning, notifying me that Beau was mine if I stopped by to meet him at the Petsmart in Frisco, I'm sure Beau would have been adopted quickly on site. Their adoption process was quick, unlike many rescue groups, who make you jump through unnecessary hoops to adopt. Thank you, Lost Paws, my daughter and I are forever grateful for our sweet boy!

I can't thank Lost Paws Rescue of Texas enough for saving Banister (now Dino) and allowing me to be his mommy! He is such a joy and has brought renewed joy to his fur-sister Layla and to me. He is a VERY happy and good boy! He is VERY loved. Thank you, thank you!! I have attached a picture of Dino & Layla. It took a while to get them both calmed down enough to sit for this picture and immediately afterwards, they were playing again.

Our little family were heartbroken when our minpin Sophie died at 16; nothing prepares you for that last time you cradle your fur child. Our remaining dog was depressed and would not leave out side. Forward 3 months when I came across Lost Paws and Tyrell. Yvette who is so wonderful and responded quickly; kept us informed each step of the adoption process until the day our family got to meet Tyrell for the first time. Tito came with complete medical records, micro chipped and trained to use a doggie door. You can tell this organization really cares who and where their animals go to.

If you are thinking of getting a pet, please consider adopting. For our family, Tyrell is the one who 'rescued' us.

Great experience with Lost Paws! We love our little puppy. He was already pretty potty trained. We just had to watch him go to the door and as long as we took him out, all went well!

My husband found Gertie on a pet finder site and we instantly fell in love with her. Her bio fit exactly what we were looking for so we reached out to find she was available for adoption. Lost Paws made the process easy and answered all of our questions. They were able to meet with us in a safe, socially distant and stress-free environment so Gertie could decide if she wanted to come home with us and she did! Lost Paws even followed up with us afterwards to make sure everything was ok and we just couldn't be happier. Thank you to Yvette who fostered her and cared for her so we could be her forever home!

Wonderful agency to work with. Very easy process but they also make sure that these animals are going to a good home. They also followed up with us several times after we brought our dog home to make sure we were all happy and doing well. I highly recommend them as a resource.

We adopted our family member just over a week ago and we couldn't be happier with the whole process! After much research and a lot of disappointments with other rescue organizations (no email, no phone call, no acknowledgement to our inquiry about a pet), Donna from Lost Paws Rescue of Texas emailed back the same day and within a few hours concerning our inquiry. She answered our questions and set up an appointment in a very timely manner. They followed through with everything they promised. We met Benji (fka Sherlock) and fell in love! There is definitely an advantage in adopting a dog that comes from a foster home. Benji is housebroken, affectionate, good with other animals, and already knew how to use our doggie door! The adoption process was easy but thorough. I appreciate that there is a vetting procedure for the adoption process. We love that Benji has found his 'furever' home! We highly recommend Lost Paws Rescue of Texas!

We adopted our puppy from Lost Paws Rescue. She was saved from a kill shelter and we are ever so grateful for all their work in saving these pups. I worked with Donna who was very patient and worked to help us find the right furever family pet. Our puppy has had her shots and was very well cared for. We received all her veterinary documentation. I highly recommend this rescue group! They truly care about each animal and finding the right home❤️

I want to thank Lost Paws Rescue of Texas for all of the love and time they give to these animals who so desperately need good homes. We got to take home sweet Precious this past weekend, and every step of the process was really wonderful. Donna answered all of my questions I had and was such a great help. They gave me the medications the vet subscribed for her after she was spayed and made sure she was healthy and ready to go home with us. I could tell her Foster mom was so kind and gentle with her while she was in her care. She is such a Godsend, and I am grateful to Lost Paws Rescue of Texas!

Lost Paws of Texas takes dogs and cats from my rural shelter. Companion pets that no one wants, and they fully vaccinate, spay and neuter, and take care of any medical needs. Lost Paws has saved so many from my little rural shelter they are truly a God send. Every dog or cat they have taken in gets adopted and which is something wonderful. Without Lost Paws these dogs and cats would not be in homes with people that love them. Thank you Lost Paws of Texas for all you do

We adopted our dog from the Lost Paws rescue about a half year ago. She is the sweetest dog we could ever have.
We are very happy with my dog and we have to leave our dog with Yvette, the founder of the organization from time to time on traveling. My dog is very happy to be there and the only place I do not have to worry about our dog. This shows how much love and care are put into animals. All vaccinations are up to date and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption.

I'd like to file a complaint, if anyone cares to listen, against a Caucasian woman with glasses, hair up in her 50's (since I'm not allowed to use her name) I was in PetSmart in Bedford, TX Saturday, 1/23/15 in the late morning/early afternoon. There was a beagle with heartworms that a few people were interested in, and concerned about. She was right by the door and would shiver every time the door opened. We asked the lady if the sick dog could be moved away from the door, and she brushed us off, very rude, and said 'We'll move her later'. We could not understand the delay, as there were several empty spots she could have moved her to, in about 5 seconds of her time. I ended up buying her a blanket, and she stopped shivering. She was also ugly to an older gentleman that was inquiring about her and told him 'You're not going to adopt her' and walked away. We could not believe this woman's demeanor. There was another dog right beside her that was barking very loudly the whole time, I asked the woman if she could move the barking dog away from the sick one. Again, she turned her back and walked away from me. I called later to inquire if the dog had been adopted, as I know several potential adoptees, once she heard it wasn't me myself adopting, she hung up on me. If I was running a charity, I would want to know about persons like this being the face of my organization. I've never met anyone involved in pets and charity that seem so incredibly insensitive and rude to potential adopters. I'll be avoiding this charity as long as this woman is involved. Thank you for your time.
