I took the Central Mexico Trip with GEEO. While the trip was initially going to be canceled, they allowed G Adventures participants to team up with the journey. Luckily, there were four additional educators from different parts of the world. There is a language and understanding between teachers, and it was fascinating how we all reflect on our experiences and how they might positively impact our students when we share them with them upon our return. Some of the demonstrations and knowledge I have gained will continually inform my teaching practice over the next few years.
I LOVE traveling with GEEO- they offer affordable trips to places I want to go, or maybe didn't even know I wanted to go! They take care of all of the 'hard' parts and are always so accessible to answer questions and work with travelers when conflicts and questions arise. They offer great incentives with the sales, discounts for early bookings or referrals. I always learn a lot traveling to the new places, and we visit not only the popular spots everyone knows they want to see, but also unusual, interesting places we didn't realize we want to see. As an educator, traveling with GEEO is like taking a graduate course filled with social studies, art, music, language, cultural and science enrichment every educator can use to inspire students to think outside of the box and want to learn more.

I've had my eye on GEEO trips for the past few years and was finally able to work it into my calendar this past summer. I took my daughter with me for her college graduation gift and we went on the Bangkok to Hanoi trip in June and July. We spent most of our time in Laos and I have to say the trip ended up being one of those trips that I will remember as incredibly rich and filled with memories. The more time that passes, the more I love the trip- that kind! We truly got off the beaten path, and were able to visit places (particularly schools) and villages normal tourists would not. Our lodging was adequate to great- but when you are in a 3rd world country, you don't always have luxurious options. Our guide was phenomenal, and the communication from Jesse at GEEO was superb. We got an authentic taste of S.E. Asian culture, food, travel and climate. I will definitely book with GEEO again.
As a middle school Social Studies teacher, I have traveled with GEEO on two great adventures to Morocco in 2018 and along the Camino de Santiago, Spain in 2019. I just love Global Exploration for Educators! They have allowed me to explore the world and experience different cultures in a first-rate, meaningful and affordable way. I have been grateful to all the work Jesse has done, helping me with my pre-trip planning and with my tour leaders, for showing me the beauty of their respective countries.
As an educator, professional development is essential for growth, and GEEO's travel programs have afforded me the opportunity to deepen my knowledge of the world and has allowed me to bring that knowledge, cultural respect, and understanding back to my students.
Thank you GEEO for all you have done to help me explore this beautiful world and I look forward to the great adventures that lie ahead!
As a teacher in an International Baccalaureate school I can honestly attest to the fact that my nine travel experiences with GEEO have not only opened and broadened my view and understanding of the world but that of my students as well. I frequently attend workshops, conferences, and participate in professional development programs, but nothing I do as an educator impacts my classroom as much as my educational sojourns with GEEO. There is a unique element involved in traveling with like-minded professionals who share a passion for learning and a passion for making global connections! Don’t think twice-just go!

I am the Social Studies chair for my school and I am passionate about teaching students to look outside their immediate community and become global citizens. My experiences with GEEO have been life changing and have enabled me to let my students learn about the world in a positive and familial way. Through pictures, artifacts, music, and literature I have been able to bring the world a little closer for my students. GEEO has been instrumental in this endeavor- I simply can't say enough positive things about this amazing organization!
GEEO provides meaningful and impactful opportunities for educators to connect across the globe. Each time I have traveled with GEEO I've returned empowered and inspired to bring a sense of global awareness and appreciation to my students. I highly recommend this organization to any educator.
I traveled with GEEO to Uzbekistan and it was a completely stress-free process from beginning to end. All the details were handled with utmost care, and the trip itself was really amazing due to the high quality of the guide and the care that went into crafting the itinerary. GEEO bringing together educators also makes all the difference in terms of who your fellow travelers are.
I have been on not one...not two...but FIVE GEEO trips since 2008. And I'm not crazy. It's just a really great experience. Peru/Inca Trail, Tunisia, Panama, Southern Africa and India/Nepal. The great thing about GEEO is that they're constantly tweaking and reevaluating their tours to make sure that they are well-suited for teachers and a great learning experience. You get the best of both worlds: off-the-beaten-path travel, while still feeling safe, comfortable and well-informed. Our tour guides have always been phenomenal and I know the GEEO makes sure they hire the guides with the best ratings. I was most impressed in India this past summer, where I noticed that we got to experience the hectic, vibrant culture of the country, while still feeling comfortable in hotels and with AC on our transportation. At the same time, the GEEO staff prepared by being honest and candid about less-comfortable experiences such as the overnight train ride...but we were all so well-prepared that it was no sweat! I also have to say that teachers are excellent travel companions. We're curious and open-minded. We can tolerate bumps in the road. We have realistic expectations. We ask lots of questions and are eager to share our experiences with our students. If you're hesitant about traveling in a group, don't worry about GEEO...you'll find great travel buddies. Traveling with this organization is a great deal. You won't regret it. Next summer...I'm thinking Thailand and probably more!!
I am a geography teacher in Texas. Recently, I participated in the Turkey trip. It was an outstanding trip, we were busy with long days, which were full of enrichment activities. Our guide was truly outstanding, not only with his knowledge of the area, but very friendly and accomodating. I would highly recommend this trip.
I was a fortunate recipiant of a Fulbright Scholarship to Japan in 2008. The Teaching East Asia Program at CU Boulder recomended GEEO. My China GEEO tour, last summer, was a great learning experience. I plan to take more GEEO tours because it has enabled me to continue my lust for travel and my extreme interest in Asian cultures.
