My family and I were blessed by the kindness and selflessness of Bobbi and John Robinson with Unity when our dog went missing in Uniontown, PA. They are such a wonderful couple with a wonderful charity, full of love and light, looking to help make others lives better and more fulfilling.
Unity a journey of hope is exactly that!!! Bobbi and John Robinson are fantastic people doing wonderful things for those who are overlooked by most other nonprofits.
This wonderful organization not only granted us a wish, they gave us back a semblance of normal. Gave us a week of laughter, love and family time and made us forget all things cancer for a time. They also personally called me and built me up when I needed it most. I will never forget you or what you did for my family, especially the smiles you put on my girls faces that cancer had erased for so long. If you are looking to make a difference donate to Unity. Every penny will go right where you intend it ,not in the organizations pocket. I can never thank you enough !
How do you put into words the gratefulness you feel when God places selfless, wonderful people in your life?
John and Bobbi Robinson are exactly that.
I have been battling cancer for three years now. My children were aged 7 and 11 when I got diagnosed and have seen things and worried about things a child should never have to.
My condition was so bad that I couldn't even have physical closeness with them for over a year.
John heard about my story and contacted me. He and his wife worked tirelessly until they were able to send my family away from all things cancer for awhile.
It rejuvenated us and reminded us what life feels like besides cancer.
They have been great friends and have talked me through some rough things.
I will be forever grateful for the smiles and laughter placed on my families faces, I haven't seen that carefree look in a long time!
If you are able to donate to this organization can personally attest that they will make s difference in someone's life.
They certainly have in mine !
Unity, a Journey of Hope are amazing group of people!! I couldnt not be more thankful for them to come into our lives and help my mom's dream come too. She got to meet Rascal Flatts in person. She has been battling small cell carcinoma lung cancer for 2 years. She has been through radiation, chemotherapy , brain surgery ( as it spread ), hospital stays, etc. a rough road for her and to see something like this happen to her after all the bad has been amazing. She was the happiest ive seen her for a long time. It meant so much not only to her but to her whole family. Rascal Flatts pointed to my mom.. said her name and sang to her " my wish " . Moments like that we will forever cherish. THANK YOU to everyone who made this possible!! ❤️
Unity of hope is an amazing organization, my sister Tammy has stage 4 small cell carsonomia for the past 2 years she has been in the battle of her life she has had all the treatment she can get and her cancer is still spreading through her chest and twice to her brain she has had 2 tumors removed from her brain she is truly the strongest person I know and amazing fighter, unity ask her what her one wish was an she said to meet rascal flatts in person and they made her wish come true. The Groves family is so thankful for everything !! Bobbi and john robinson you truly are amazing we love you both !!♡♡
How truly grateful I am to have met John and Bobbi Robinson. God made sure I was supposed to meet these wonderful people .They say people come into your life for a reason and now I know the magic of his power. I am just passing my third year battle with small cell lung cancer with mets to the brain, It has been a long rough road but I still continue to fight.
Unity a Journey of hope granted me the best wish I could have ever received. 1 week in Selbyville , Delaware . (It is right on the border of OC Maryland) My husband and I never did get a real honeymoon so this of course was the ultimate wish for me !!!! We stayed at a wonderful beach house at Mallard lakes.
The trip was great!! Lots of beach time !! The ocean is my favorite place . Lots of fishing, lots and lots of wonderful sites to see. and LOTS OF FOOD! I was amazed at how much country was there, I soaked in all I could in 1 week. It was so great to be able to feel the sand between my toes and hold my husbands hand and have his heart. I appreciated all the things you had given us. I prayed several times thanking the Good Lord for the kindness of John and Bobbi for giving me this wish and the wonderful time. I wish somehow I could have just froze time .
Thank you to Unity a journey of Hope and to all who volunteer their time to this exceptional organization. I will never forget the most wonderful week of my life and will forever be grateful for all you did for myself and my husband God bless all of you!! Edie And Jeff Rice
While battling cancer for the third time, Unity provided my want, need and desire to sit on the beach with the wind on my face and feet in the sand. It gave me the renewed strength to keep up the fight. Words can't thank them enough. God bless you both for the things you are doing. How can you rate them anything less than a five star. They give expecting nothing in return.
Our mother has passed away but Unity granted her last wish of having all her kids together for one last meal. Unity provided a beautiful meal and we shared it together in her honor. Thank you unity for loving our mother and for supporting her.
Unity provides my daughter Stacey with her wish to meet race car driver Kasey Kahne.I had been trying to make this happen for her without any luck.Contacted John at Unity one evening,he got right on it.Within 2 days he had it all set up for my daughter! I was in tears When I received the call saying when and where the meeting would take place.Just let me say as a mother of a daughter who wanted this so badly ,Unity made this happen for her.Seeing the smile on her face when Kasey came out will stay in my heart forever. There are no non profits out there that make wishes come true for adults but Unity does and John never stop till he makes it happen. This group is like no other the way Grant wishes to adults who also deserve their wish to come true as well.Thank you John at Unity for putting a smile on my daughter's face something I hadn't seen along while. You all ROCK.God Bless!
Unity may be changing lives one wish at a time but they have changed my life more than you can imagine by letting me volunteer to help make these wishes come true. These people have the biggest hearts of anyone I have ever known!
In 2014 we found out my husband who was only 34 at the time has congestive heart failure that his heart was only working 10%. We were devastated! He coded twice and was on life support we didn't know if he would come back to us or not and by the blessing of God he did. He than got the LVAD (left ventricular assist device) that helps pump the blood flow to his heart and was put on the heart transplant list. We just took it day by day and never knew what would come our way. He has always wanted to take me and our children to the beach since he has never been there and our children who are 4 and 6 also never been there. But when he got sick he is not able to work again at least not until he gets his new heart and then there after we really don't know if he will be able to, its just a hope and a pray, so we thought our chances to take a family vacation to the beach was gone. Until one day Unity a Journey of Hope came into our lives and changed it so much. They made that dream come true for us. They blessed us with a weeks vacation to Ocean City Maryland to have that vacation and that dream that we thought we would never be able to have. We are so thankful to Bobbi and John and every single person that helped make it a dream come true for us. The memories we made, the time we got to spend together and show our babies the beach and the ocean and do all the fun exciting things we were able to do was priceless. I can not thank them enough for what they have done for my family its something we thought we would not be able to do being my husband is sick but now we did and we have those memories forever that will last a lifetime!! My husband is also a big fan of Chuck Norris and when we met Bobbi and John they surprised my husband with an picture of Chuck Norris and he had wrote a note on there to my husband. When Will opened that and seen it he was so shocked and happy and never thought he would get something like that from one of his idols. My husband doesn't cry or tear up much but that day he did and to see that made me so emotional and happy for him.. Because of Unity A Journey of Hope this amazing blessing happened to my family and if it was not for them we may never got to experience and see everything we did and have the memories we now have! They touched our hearts and we are forever grateful for them!!! From The Robison's
I would like to thank John and Bobbi for the compassion you have to go out of your way.To grant wishes to people. How awesome is that. My Husband Andy Kubiak had Gliobastoma brain cancer. And his wish was to see Jerome Bettis. And to be on his Show. You two made that wish come true. When we got the call that we were going to go watch the show Andy was very excited. When we arrived at the station John was there waiting for us. It was time to meet Jerome. the look on Andy's face was priceless. Andy got to spend sometime with Jerome he let him try the superbowl ring on . What a nice guy. After the show started Jerome spoke of Andy like a friend throughout the tapping. Then we got to go to Jerome's grill and we ate in his private room. The food was amazing. For one night through this terrible battle with cancer.we got to enjoy ourselves without thinking about it for one night. Cannot Thank you enough for everything. God bless.
My brother Andy Kubiak has glioblastoma stage IV Brain cancer and John & Bobbi has gone out of their way to plan an extra special meeting with Jerome Bettis and be part of the tapping of his show. After spending time with Andy and signing autographs all of us enjoyed a meal at Jerome Bettis Grille #36. Such a great and memorable day! Felt wonderful to see my brothers smile like we haven't seen in months. This experience helped him forget about his cancer if only but a short time. Would highly recommend this origination and ask for donations and/or volunteers so as to carry this hope and dreams on to others!

This was a review sent to me John Robinson from a medical Social worker about a patient she has and UNITY granted a wish for....
I am a pediatric oncology social worker. One of my "kids" had recently relapsed at the age of 19. Most wish foundations allow wishes up to the age of 18. My young adult was understandably upset by the news, She is a sophomore in college and was unable to return to school. She had committed to 18 months of missionary work and, due to the relapse, was unable to meet her commitment. Her world, along with the family's world, had crashed around them. This news put me on a mission to find an organization who could grant her the wish of an iPad mini. She said it would allow her to keep in touch with her friends at school, read books on line and communicate with her family, during times when she could not leave her home.
When I read about "Unity A Journey of Hope", I immediately sent in a referral. John Robinson contacted me through email, requesting more information. John was very clear with stating the foundation could not guarantee to grant the wish but he would do his best. Several weeks later I received the email stating the wish had been granted. I am not sure who was more excited, John or me. I promised not to tell the family so it would be a surprise.
The next time I saw my family, the recipient was just smiling from ear to ear; something I had not seen since she began treatment. Mom was just as excited.
I would like to thank your wonderful foundation for being so generous, not only to my family, but to all the families you touch. I wish there were words to describe how much our families appreciate the gifts but, the wonderful by-product of it all, is the parents finally seeing their child smile again. It is just priceless.
Wishing all the best to everyone involved with "Unity A Journey of Hope".
Have a great day!
I am John the Co-Founder of UNITY. Recently we have been seeking grants and support. A lot of corporation want to see outcomes and goals that produce something material or tangible that you can see, feel, smell, touch. With Unity we may not be able too fill those shoes but, when a wish recipient says to me, " I forgot I had cancer today" or " I did not think I would see my husband ever smile again" or after Unity granted a wish to a 94 year old lady she said to me, " I have been on hospice waiting to die, but because of the wish I can't wait to live!" UNITY A JOURNEY OF HOPE, "Changing lives 1 wish at a time..." This is what UNITY is about and IF you want to make a difference come join our PASSION!
My name is Megan and I am 19 years old. When I was 13 I was diagnosed with Acute Lymophoblastic Leukemia. I went through treatment and then four years later I relapsed. This has been a difficult time for me and Unity A Journey of Hope was so kind to grant my wish of receiving an iPad mini. I wanted one so that I could watch movies, read eBooks, and play games on it while I was at clinic getting treatments and for at home to distract me when I'm not feeling well. They have been so kind and I am extremely grateful for the gift they sent me!
I belong to a not for profit motorcycle rights organization, ABATE, and I've been fortunate enough to work with Unity on several fundraisers as well as helping grant a wish. I'm always amazed at what they can accomplish on such a grand scale while operating on such a minimal budget. I've nothing but positive and glowing comments to say about the organization and it's volunteers. In this era of such negativity and selfishness, Unity stands as a reminder that there is still good being done in this world.
There are not enough stars for this organization. My father was diagnosed with cancer in sept 2009. In Nov. I was in the car in the mid. of the nite and I heard about this wish granting thing on the radio. I wrote the number down and passed it on to my mom not really thinking anything would come of it. Boy, was I wrong.
Mom called the number and talked to John Robinson. And things kind of snowballed from there. I believe it was within a month that Dad and mom were outside the Statue of Liberty. Daddy was a Navy Vet of 22 years and I never knew that he always wanted to see the Statue of Liberty. He had seen it from a distance but was never actually there and the look on his face when he saw it was priceless. John ended up being my dad’s Hospice nurse at the time also.
John and Bobbie both cared for my mom and dad with a lot of empathy, Humor and love.
In 2013 my mom was diagnosed with cancer and passed away in 2014. . John was her nurse also. I learned a lot about how hospice worked and the processes when someone passes. There is too many words for this organization.
He was always real honest, even when it was hard to do so. Had my family and I not had the great fortune of being blessed by this organization, I don’t know that I would have been able to handle their passings as easily as I have. I know they really Helped my parent’s and many other families. They are really a blessing. Thank you Unity!
Daughter of David and Shirley Hall
Such an amazing group of human beings making then impossible, possible! Thank you for all your hard work and dedication that you do every day and the countless hours that go unseen!
I have been a volunteer since November 2014. I am 30 years of age and have been involved in many organizations over those years. I have never been a part of an organization that gives hope like this one. From the founders down to every last volunteer I watch people brainstorm, give time, give whatever they are able to give to show someone who needs it that there is still genuine human love to give to this world. We live in a world that is infatuated with technology, money, and a slew of other bitter qualities, but the existence of Unity helps to build a bridge between genuine human love and emotion to the person who truly needs it in their life.
My mom, Carmel, was diagnosed in sept. of 1999 with ovarian cancer. She went in for a cyst removal of her right ovary, the doctors assured her it was NOT cancer. When she woke up she was on the oncology floor of the hospital, she thought however, it was because my cousin who is an Registered Nurse on that floor that they put her on there. I was starting my freshman year of high school and my little brother was 10years old. Well the doctors broke the news to her, she took it well! She began Chemo immediately. However when her hair started falling out in the shower by the clumps, that was the hardest for her. My mom worked hard all her life to provide for my brother and I. She had to quit her job the chemo gave her neuropathy in her feet (could not feel her feet). Many many years pasted, many other problems made her health worse. The cancer had spread to her lymph nodes.. She knew she did not have much longer on this earth. She found this awesome wonderful organization.. Journey of Hope... Her last wishes was to stick her feet in the sand. Bobbie and John made this all possible.. My parents did not have the money to made her wish come true, but because of Bobbie and John my mom got her dream. Sadly on August 22, 2008 my mom lost her battle with cancer.
She was 48 years young.. In conclusion, Journey of Hope is just not an organization, it is a persons last days months of their dreams, wishes, and or hopes... I have never meet Bobbie and John but from the experience my mom had in her final months here, this trip was what she talked and about. I can never thank Bobbie and John for what they have done for my mom, but please know you have touch so many people and their families with what you do.. Thank you Bobbie and John, so was my moms angels here on earth and she can be yours from heaven.. Thank you again, Teri Linn
