Mission: Youth Music Project’s mission is to provide outstanding rock, pop, and country music education for youth by offering tuition assistance, instrument rental, and exceptional, state-of-the-art performance opportunities.
Results: In 2016, Youth Music Project enrolled 1,560 students; provided tuition-free enrollment to 548 students; and put instruments into the hands of 200 students via its lending library. Youth Music Project is a place where young people come to cultivate the passion and perseverance needed to successfully transition into adulthood and become a positive and creative community member.
Target demographics: young people, ages 1-18; especially children whose families otherwise could not afford music education.
Direct beneficiaries per year: 1,560 students and their families; 5,000+ people came through our facility.
Geographic areas served: Clackamas County
Programs: year-round group and private music instruction in guitar, bass, ukulele, piano, drums, violin and voice; early childhood music education; and summer camps. In addition, Youth Music Project provides young people and the community with opportunities to practice and showcase their music skills via a weekly guitar & ukulele jam, weekly karaoke, and a monthly open mic night for teens.
