Programs:
The AmeriCorps Leadership & Conservation Program engages young adults ages 18-24 in an 11-month service and leadership development program. In the spring and fall, Corpsmembers install energy-efficiency measures in the homes of low-income residents. They also participate in extensive training to prepare them to serve as Peer Leaders on land conservation crews of younger youth during the summer, taking on additional responsibilities such as project management, volunteer coordination, outreach and recruitment and facilitating service learning. Graduates earn AmeriCorps education awards of $4,725 that can be used for post-secondary education.
