Mission: The mission of the yakima rotary trust is to serve as a vehicle to receive memorials, bequests and gifts to be used to enhance the quality of life for the citizens of the yakima area.

Programs: The primary focus of the trust during the 2014-15 fiscal year was the completion of a new building for the yakima food bank. Renamed the yakima rotary food bank, it is the oldest food bank in the community and run completely by volunteers. In 2014, they distributed 728,736 pounds of nutritious food to 96,408 individuals, including 45,648 children and 50,760 adults. Total contribution to the new building was $182,500. The trust also made a commitment to the yakima rotary club and yakima southwest rotary club to provide matching grants on two projects for improvements at randall park located in yakima, washington. Yakima southwest rotary is constructing a new wildlife viewing deck along a pond within the park. The yakima rotary club will be purchasing and installing a new playground that when completed will be the largest playground in the city of yakima. The total investment in both projects was approved at $90,000.

the trust also administers a renewable scholarship entitled the mary monroe davis scholarship program. This annual program awards scholarships to residents of yakima county who plan to continue their education in undergraduate study. Renewable scholarships for tuition and fees are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited two or four-year college or university of the student's choice. In the first six years of the program, students have been awarded renewable scholarships with a total value over the life of the scholarships of $4. 5 million.
