Raptor House Rehabilitation Center

I made a visit to the raptor house as one of many stops during my vacation. As a former birds of prey educational speaker, I thought it might be interresting to see the difference between this facility and the one I worked with. Back in 2006 Marsha had only a barn. I've kept in touch & watched her grow over the years. She has really come a long way & with very little to work with. I could just immagine what she could do with all the resources she needs. While there, we toured her facility & she gave me an education on things I didn't even know about. Marsha doesn't just work with wildlife, she lives it. It takes a very special & dedicated person to do what she has done.

I found the materaial quite educational and very imforming. In addition to this overall experience, I have learned a great deal about birds of prey and would gladly refer others to this organization. The staff was extremely professional and very knowledgable.

When i first went to the raptor house i was blown away. you are standing 3 feet away from these magnificent bird,so close you ca see the color of they eyes. the staff at the raptor house are vaults of information.I used to think there were just hawks and falcons,boy was i wrong. I learned so much and the staff was so helpful. I decided to start my path as a Falconer And Marsha Flamm has helped make that decision a reality. I always really enjoy volunteering at Raptor House. It is an incredible organization. Marsha works very hard to give the best possible care to the birds that come in. She puts tons of time into each of the birds and a good amount of what funds Raptor House comes from her own pocket.Marsha has helped a countless number of birds.She also does many programs to help educate the public on raptors. The public really enjoy seeing and learning about these amazing creatures. Not only does she educte the public but you learn a lot volunteering there. I've learned so much from Marsha.

I never cease to be amazed at how much time effort and emotion goes into each and every one of the birds that come to Raptor House. Marsha donates all of her time for free, and she uses her own personal funds as well to keep the Raptor House open. Marsha is always thankful for any help I can give and regularly will give up something she has planned to fit into my busy schedule to bring in a bird that needs attention. Marsha is also an amazingly capable nurse to these birds. She has brought birds that I thought would not make it back to full releasable condition through her attention and care.

When Marsha came to this area from out of state she had two things to work with; her experience with raptors and a dream to do educational work. Starting with those two things and very little outside help, she has succeeded in establishing herself as the main raptor re-hab person and the best raptor education source in our Central Washington area. Her sevice to this community is limited to her present level of involvement only because of the limited finances that the Raptor House has been able to generate. There is a far greater demand for rehabilitation work and for educational acivities in our area than what Marsha has been able to satisfy while functioning with the Raptor House budget as it exists at the present time.

I have enjoyed working with Marsha Flamm at the Raptor House for nearly 5 years. I am continually amazed at the work, and work ethic for the cause, done there. Ms. Flamm puts her all into the rehabilitation of any and all birds (and sometimes other critters) that come to the center. Her education programs are top notch, both very educational and entertaining, leaving the children with a new respect for and understanding of raptors, and our area wildlife in general. I will continue to volunteer for Raptor House Rehabilitation Center for as long as I am able.

I love working with the birds and with Marsha at Raptor House. She does such a terrific job and provides a great service to the community
