Mission: The yakima greenway works to conserve, enhance and maintain the yakima greenway as a continuing living resource for future generations. The yakima greenway is a system of paved pathways, parks, fishing lakes, and access to protected and natural areas.
Programs: Stewardship of the yakima greenway - the foundation continues to fulfill its mission to conserve, enhance and maintain the yakima greenway by carrying out ongoing repairs and maintenance to the system of paved pathways, parks, and lakes. During 2017 the foundation continued its progress on the naches trail project. This project will eventually connect the existing trails and paths of the yakima greenway with the town of naches.
community events - annual events include gap2gap, kiddin' around, and family field day. These events are organized and undertaken by the foundation to encourage community access to the yakima greenway. These events showcase the beauty of the yakima greenway and harnesses the goodwill of the community towards the foundation and its mission. During 2017 the foundation benefited from the help and generosity of over 200 volunteers who helped put on these events.
