The professional and working relationships between Conservation Districts (esp. North Yakima CD) and the South Central RC&D Council are a model for all Councils in Washington State. Recognition of each organizations strengths to complete a common goal drive the success of fish passage restoration and fisheries enhancement in the region. Each RC&D and CD in the state should strive to emulate the effective partnerships working on behalf of important, limited natural resources. These organizations work effectively together, not against each other in a spirit of netural resource betterment.
The South Central Washington RC&D Council provides an excellent local support group for facillitating and implementing natural resource projects. They have done a outstanding job at bringing together multiple stakeholders to work on issues in effective ways. They also bring a significant amount of revenue and jobs into our region that benefit fish, water quality, community development and other natural resources in our area.
The South Central Washington RC&D is a lead RC&D for the State of Washington. Their impact in the region and state-wide is outstanding. I've worked with the Council and RC&D Coordinator, Heather, on a number of occasions and can't say enough great things about their willingness to help; their forward-thinking and can-do approach! They are good at what they do and they get thigns done! Thank you! I'm so thankful that you do what you do.
