Causes: Animals, Fisheries Resources
Mission: The mission of the organization is to restore sustainable and harvestable populations of salmon,steelhead,bull trout and other at-risk fish and wildlife species through the collaborative, economically sensitive efforts,combined resources, and wise resource management of the yakima river basin.
Programs: Key accomplishments were to: 1] identify, prioritize and promote habitat projects and other recovery actions that implement the yakima steelhead recovery plan previously written by the board and approved by noaa; 2] run a competitive grant process for habitat projects under contract with the state of washington's recreation and conservation office 3] work with partners to monitor and evaluate progress towards the goals identified in our recovery plans and adjust recovery strategies as required. 4] work with partners to implement priority actons identified in the 2012 yakimabull trout action plan develoed by the board. 5] develop a broad public outreach program to support fisheries restoration efforts in the yakima basin; 6] continue to operate as a consensus based organization driven by diverse local partners.
