The Amanda Rose Belmont Dance For Joy studio has been so far an amazing and wonderful experience for myself and for my sisters. I feel that it most definitely has helped with our dance skills and techniques along with the precious spiritual aspect of our life. It creates healthy and Godly relationships with others along with giving us the chance to dance and better learn to dance for our heavenly Father above. This studio is definitely worth it!
My experience with Dance for Joy has been wonderful. Seeing all the girls use their gifts from God to glorify Him is a something that is wonderful to behold.
I've been a student here for almost 4 years now and I'm so happy to have found this dance studio! The training really is in excellence, and the people are helpful and nice. I've enjoyed coming here and learning ballet, along with modern. I've also been blessed teaching the kids.
Sandy and her staff amaze me each time they have a dance performance. Not only do they have great creative choreography with each dance but the colors and arrangements fill the stage with awesome backgrounds. They use both photo and video supplements for some of their dances to illustrate the message they are trying to convey. Not only does each child receive great instruction at the dance studio, but they try to promote team work, self-esteem, and personal value. Sandy and her team have a heart for the children of Rochester and make every effort using their dance studio to minister to them.
DFJ has been a blessing to our family. Our daughter has been a student here since it opened and has been privileged to teach the last 4 years. Finally we found a Christian studio, which according to our daughter, offers better training than the secular studio she was formerly dancing at. Her teachers are exceptional and classes include technique, classical and modern ballet, worship, choreography, and pointe. Our daughter loves her challenging classes, has made numerous friends, hates to miss a class and has spiritually matured. The teachers truly care about each and every student and help them to excel in dance. They personally encourage students to live life to the fullest. Students of the company ballet (Yahweh Ballet) teach wee ballet through level 3. This has been a privilege and wonderful experience for our daughter. The school also offers many opportunities to reach out to the communities through dance ministries.Sam and Sandy Arena, the directors/owners, seek to glorify God in all they do and and have made many personal sacrifices to keep this studio running for their students.
My girls, ages 6 and 11 have danced at the studio since its inception. They love to come to dance class and do not want to stop dancing. Having a worship component to the dance is has been so meaningful, since I know it is shaping their hearts and character, not just their bodies. This past October, the girls choreographed and performed their own dance for a girls' talent night at church. What a joy to see the things they have learned at Dance For Joy put into practice! Thank you DFJ
This is our 5yr old daughter's second year at Dance for Joy, and her life has been changed because of it. Her confidence has grown, the friendships she has made are cherished, and the friendships and support I've made as well have been invaluable. My daughter looks forward to dance weekly, and wishes she could go to ballet every day instead of school :)
This is my 10-year-old's second season at DFJ studio. After attending the "Savior" ballet this past Christmas season my daughter was inspired to dance again! We love it! The new studio is a great space with endless possibilities. The studio excels in professionalism, creativity, heart, and Christ-centered dance. My daughter adores the worship portion of her class...the fast friendships she is forming are a blessing as well.Thank You DFJ =]
I was thrilled when my 12-year old daughter found Dance For Joy online and was interested in taking ballet lessons there. I really loved the idea of a focus on Jesus, and not sending her off at a place to simply learn dance. At the same time, however, I was concerned whether she would actually learn good technique. I am happy to report that DFJ has exceeded my expectations in both areas! I have had the privilege of looking in on her classes and found that the Christ-centered focus and worship time, as well as the technique time, are both of high quality. I also love the fact that my daughter is making close Christian friends. I have also been impressed with DFJ's involvement in the community and the fact that they offer reduced rates (or even free classes) to those who need that. I would recommend DFJ to anyone looking to expand their involvement in the arts with a Christian emphasis.
I have enjoyed watching my children grow in Technique and in Character while at Dance for Joy. Not only is it a positive environment but of excellence as well. I love how the studio is always involved in community outreaches and encourage the kids to be involved also to help instill the value of giving back. When my oldest daughter started at the studio she was shy and never thought she could ever perform on stage in front of people but now she is outgoing and confident. The transformation has been amazing as well as the friendships she has built with those in the studio. Lastly I would like to touch on the teachers they are all excellent dancers but moreover seem to be able to adapt to the learning style of each child and they are super role models. Upstanding Christians who really live The Word not just have knowledge of it and it makes for a wonderful balance for my girls. My girls have been going to the studio for 3 years now and the growth from them is more than I could have hoped for. Oh and they work with me financially when times get rough so that is another blessings. Constructive criticism? I cannot think of any at this time but anytime I have had a concern or thought about the school and brought it to Sandy Arena’s attention she has always listened intently and addressed my concerns with love, grace and respect not just brushing me off as an annoying parent as we parents can be quite defensive of our kiddos at times. So I guess I can give an A++++ in this area too.
