As an eight year breast cancer survivor, I felt the need and desire to form a breast cancer foundation to support women battling breast cancer. Our foundation's mission is to take 2 breast cancer survivors, at a time, on a luxury RV daily / weekend excursions which will consist of enjoying healthy eating, wig fittings, journaling and sharing stories to help other women whom are battling breast cancer.
Some of our excursions will be day trips to the beach, trips to retreats, such as yoga and overnight trips to the Blue Ridge Mountains. The focus is on the woman that is battling cancer or has recently completed treatment. When a woman can have a day to get away to spend time solely on her own, as a day to rejuvenate from it all, then it not only helps that woman but helps the entire family because she returns home feeling good about her self again.
My love of travel is what influenced me of sharing this love with other women battling breast cancer. When I was going thru chemotherapy, I had the opportunity to have a day trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Being surrounded by such beautiful nature changed my entire outlook in life. I knew that day as I stood there looking down in the valleys and up at the beautiful mountains that one day the foundation I formed would bring women to this area. And years later after hard work..... the foundation has been formed and is a 501 c3 organization.
