Programs: Education, in burma & thailand: together with other groups, funded teacher subsidies for approx. 2,000 elementary and middle school teachers, provided curriculum, school supplies, food and transportation benefiting over 40,000 internally displaced children ("idps") attending over 680 schools in small rural villages in burma and refugee camps on thai-burma border. Provided funding to community-based schools and preschools, serving over 2,000 migrant students (both adults and children) in various parts of thailand; subsidies and transportation fees for 12 teachers for a year.

relief, in burma: under supervision of organization's representative provided toilets and water piping to 35 homes and schools. Organization's associates provided education to construct toilets from local materials to several 'least developed' villages. The program includes working with local groups to build up a "village-based" public health system based on education and targeted low-cost public health measures. Growth stunting is particularly targeted by nutritional education and local food production. Organization's associates train and equip local health workers, as well as conduct onsite visits to some of the jungle clinics. Through continued relationship-building and mentoring, medics improve their skills and increase the scope of their practice. Assist special cases financially and logistically while undergoing care in thai hospitals. Provide logistics of transportation, translation and food support to over 40 referral cases. Work together with local charities. When local charities do not cover hospital bills due to limited criteria or cash-flow constraints, assist in covering costs until care is complete.

us refugee assistance: u. S. Based assistance to over 500 people displaced by war arriving in the us. Provide emergency occupancy assistance to newly arrived refugees with utility bills, rent, and any needed supplies during the transition period where financial assistance from resettlement agencies has ended before employment. Provided transportation assistance to relocate families. Provide refugees with immigration assistance in applying for green card and citizenship status.
