Making a difference foundation is truly a place where people’s lives are changed on a regular basis. Each program and entity is taken into consideration with care and open arms. The homes for veterans program is truly a life changer for any veteran that wants the assistance with getting their life back on track. Without the veteran assuming the home for veterans program is just a free for all program and realize that it takes work, perseverance and ways to make your income that you have help you for improvement. If the veteran works the program and uses the counseling, the self help classes and save money by having the fair market rent that is cheaper than the current rent values for the year to two years that they are in the program. They actually come out on top, with either buying a home or moving into a place that they would love to call home. Because of their credit improving their situations improved and their lives changed and become better. I have knowledge of the homes for veteran’s applicants being put in homes and taken off the streets. Regardless if they had evictions or not, this is the best program I have seen yet to help veterans get back on their feet. The veterans that mean business about wanting a better and changed life actually get what they came into the program for. I believe in this program, I believe in this company because I know firsthand this program works. Then they have a food bank that serves 10,000 people a month no matter where you come from, whenever the food bank is open anyone can go and get good unexpired healthy food, fresh vegetables grown from their own private garden, organic food and vegetables, household products, diapers, shoes, gloves, dog food, cat food, shampoo, soap, hygiene and female products. Whatever a family or individual requests and they have it, it is yours. They also deliver food to disabled, sick, shut in, veterans and to homeless individuals. When speaking about the owner of this business, just because you don't know her personally. Doesn't mean you can't get to know her; she is truly an out spoken individual with a heart for the people that reaches out far beyond our reach. Her heart of gold that she posse are not always relevant and seen by all. But I commend her for all the blood, sweat and tears that she puts into this company. She has an uncanny personality that not many agree with, straight and to the point but she means well for all people, no matter of race or religion. All that you read on the website is real up to date and is practiced on a day to day, case by case basis.

I became connected with The MADF as an organic gardener interested in donating my surplus to serve Food Justice in a local Urban Food Desert. Over the years I have been associated with the organization I have become impressed with the organization's ability to see the larger picture and deliver solutions addressing Food Injustice. What makes the foundation exceptional is that the importance of each individual, whether client, volunteer or staff, remains at the heart of everything they do. The MADF vision which looks beyond present conditions for solutions is grounded in making a difference in each and every life it touches.

The Making A Difference Foundation is an amazing organization with several programs that help those in need. From the Veterans program to the missionary projects, MADF really makes it a mission to make a difference in the lives of others. This foundation does work strictly from the heart and soul with such an awe inspiring drive to continuously change people's lives.

I have been coming to the food bank for over a yr now, I volunteer 4 days a week, the quality of food and the cleanliness of the food area is above and beyond. the volunteers with whom I work with day In and day out are very loving and caring people we have a fun and great working atmosphere. we all pull together and make sure we can help and care for as many people as possible a day. Eloise Food Bank has always shown compassion towards the individuals that the have served that walk through the doors to obtain assistance. The same goes with myself and the other volunteers. I find that always walking into this facility to help volunteer always gives a positive feeling.

Out of all of the places that I have come to volunteer at, this is one of the better places that shows there support in treating their volunteers the respect that they deserve.

I have been volunteering at this food bank for almost 3 years doing pick ups of donations and deliveries to our clients that cannot make it to the food bank. I love meeting new people and have a bond with our clients after working with them over time. The management is refreshing and we will be a partner in giving back with them for a long time.

Making a wish foundation has made a huge difference in my life. A single mother of one child, Making a Wish Foundation has allowed me to look at the world in various lenses. I have been able to serve my community while gaining interpersonal skills, learning to love, and appreciate the little things in life. Many of them report their financial situations are improving and they are learning a lot about budgeting and paying their bills on time. We recognize the program does not work for a small percentage of participants and we will continue to review the program's objectives and outcomes and make appropriate adjustments.

We had the unfortunate experience of dealing with this foundation and it's supposed program "Homes for Vets" The person who runs this program ripped us off for almost $4,000 and we had to endure months of harassment and bogus lawsuits. She is also being investigated by the Washington State attorney general and the WSBA. Veterans who have come forward after being ripped off were featured on King 5 news Investigations. You can go to the King 5 news website and search "Homes for vets charity under scrutiny" and "Homeless vets say program promising help was a nightmare" if you would like to see some of the common stories and how this foundation operates. Those who have dealt with her know what a nightmare she truly is. We could go on and on about her bullying tactics and downright frauding us, but the bottom line, run, don't walk away from this woman and her foundation. Also, BTW, the reviews trying to paint her food bank in a good light, are all fake and were all posted on the same day. Shame on MADF for ripping off homeless veterans-those who fought for this country.

Please do not be fooled by all of these reviews, if you notice they were all made on the same day and they are probably not real. I was a client of the homes for veterans program and it was nothing but a nightmare from the time I moved in.

This orginazation is a scam, they take all of your money Bully you out of your home. You are promised home ownership, yet not one Vet has purchased a home. Please do yourself a favor and stay away from Ablue and MADF.

This charity and its founder are being investigated by numerous big dog agencies for "Scamming," military veterans based on many, many complaints lodged by veterans and their families that have been severely harmed by this charity and its founder and its housing program.

It is amazing how this deceptive lady and her scam charity can keep seeping through and operating in the community and in other states like a snake in web sites such as this.

As a veteran that desperately needed to find and get stable housing I met and encountered this con artist on "Craigslist." She raped and pillaged my bank account for a inhabitable house that I received in the end. I was not looking for any kind of hand out because I paid from my bank account dearly to encounter this crafty woman and ended up in worse condition than before I met her.

She obtains every drop of your personal information and never came through with any of many fabulous promises in helping a vet "Self restore," to home ownership. Once she has your money and personal info "In an instant," a veteran and their family becomes like trash to her.

When a vet gets to a point that they cannot tolerate the inhabitable conditions of the housings and the insane behaviors of the founder and vacates, it does not end there for the veteran (s) as the founder who is an attorney then gets on a mission to pursue and stalk veterans in the court system with wrongful evictions and monetary judgments thus keeping veterans and their families homeless longer in the streets.

The veterans once in "Her Program," are further used more like a revolving door to repair her ill kept housing provided to her cheaply by the Veterans Administration. The VA is investigating her and has since suspended her ability to obtain more cheap 'VA foreclosure homes."

Further more this charity and its founder never, never mention "VA home loan certificates," that all veterans are given for their service to this country. Instead the founder brings in more shady, deceptive and lying characters in "Non VA," mortgage dealings and so far not one single veteran has obtained home ownership in any form as promised through this so called charity.

The VA home loan certificates add more protective measures to veterans (Not lenders,) in the home buying process which this lady and her charity avoid like its a plagued!

This charity and its founder sets the presidence for evil in its highest form.

This food bank has impacted my family by simply coming together and providing for out community being a part of a non profit organization helping those that are homeless or in need of food and other items. Making A Difference Foundation is a great organization. It has made a great impact on the lives of he people in which it serves. They have a great program that sends out joy boxes to people to encourage them. There is no charge for the box. This organization feeds thousand of people each month and also house homeless veteran.

Making a Difference Foundation is a mismanaged and tyrannical non profit that finds housing for Veterans that are homeless. When you get accepted in the program be prepared to be disrespected again like your in boot camp. You will be considered faceless and with no character. Often your past decision will be brought to your attention and you will be screamed at for not understanding the head matriarch's ideals and reasoning. I learned by working with this foundation that the word "VETERAN" can be used as a derogatory adjective. Which is not good. The people who "help" you are unprofessional and threatening.They are assigned to you with no credentialing available. Also, the turnover of the helpers are often. Be prepared to give your most intimate details such as social security numbers, finances, lifestyle choices to someone who may have a managed an animal shelter. Most of the helpers are undereducated and lack any specialized training in rehabilitation, social services or community outreach and especially customer service . Imagine giving your most private and important information to the greeter at Walmart. Do your due diligence and research them. The KIRO News story is inflated but there many truths and those tears are not one of them.

This is a shotgun wedding style non profit that I don't recommend. They are take advantage of Veterans that are disenfranchised and without hope by promising them permanent housing while dehumanizing them with personal insults, non truths and litigation.

I would like to share my experience with the Making a Difference Foundation; Homes for Veterans program.
My Family and I were experiencing a period of unstable housing. We did not know what we were going to do, or where we were going to be living. We came across an ad for “Homes for Veterans” during our very desperate efforts to keep our home or find some suitable place to sleep at night. The program accepted us, moved us into a home, and began directing us to organizations to help our situation.
We entered the program unsure of what to expect, and quickly realized that this was going to be a lot of work to do the things we committed to. This program is not a hand out, we were required to make serious changes to how we lived and budget our lifestyle, and the bottom line is accountability. We were helped by the Making a Difference Foundation every step of the way, with advice, planning, budgeting and with basic household needs.
At the end of the program, my family is now in a position to buy our own home, and with the skills we have developed and practiced, we can look forward to keeping it.
This program is not for everyone, it takes a real commitment to change for the better.
I will forever be grateful to the people with the Making a Difference Foundation/ Homes for Veterans for helping my Family change our lives.

Eloise Cooking Pot Food Bank gives quality and large amounts of food supply with a variety of selection. I would say that Eloise Cooking Pot Food Bank is one to the best food banks know to me. Prior to volunteering I was a client served and this food bank brought many quality meals for me and my family with hassle free sign up.

I have been volunteering at Eloise's Cooking Pot Food Bank and my experience has been absolutely amazing! This food bank is incredibly generous to the community and the volunteers. You know that the service that is being provided is appreciated by the community when the very individuals who are in need want to assist the food bank with preparation in the morning before the food bank opens. This food bank offers both nonperishable and perishable (meat, vegetables, etc.), toys for children and pets, pet food, and items for infants and toddlers. Eloise Cooking Pot is a valuable asset for East Tacoma. It provides a variety of foods, including Pet Food. They also provide household products. They are also open 3 days a week which provide clients the opportunity to be served two times a week. The Food bank is kept clean. As a volunteer I'm constantly taken back while serving to hear people mostly first timers say how clean the Food Bank is and choices that they and the amount of food they can get. There is nothing more rewarding. The Food Bank even delivers to some Senior Housing Complexes. It 's a God send.

I also volunteer with the Joy Box Ministry. It is a wonderful feeling making the Joy Boxes for people needing encouragement & hope when they are in distress for whatever situation ( s) they have come to find themselves in. The Joy Boxes are uplifting in terms of showing God's love, reminding there is hope, don't give up . At the lost of a loved one passing, brings comfort; in sickness, well wishes. Many people have written back to say "Thank You" I give the highest grade to Making A Difference because the Foundation is earnestly working in the spirit of excellence
to make a positive difference in the lives of people.

I'm really grateful that the food bank is in my community. Ahndrea Blue is a real godsend keeping her grandmothers', Eloise's Cooking Pot food bank alive, here in Tacoma. It is a needed necessity here on the Eastside of Tacoma.

The needs of the clients are the driving force behind everything that they do. From the drinking water and snacks while we wait in line and gift bags for the kids. all the way to having help carrying food to the our cars.

Very curtious and very clean and thoughtful individuals. Care and always willing to help people able and disable.

They are open three days a week. They give all food groups, and fresh produce and fruit.

Worked with MADF to establish and manage a 720 sq ft Foodbank Community Garden in Tacoma, WA. Excellent Food Justice collaboration for generating healthy, organic food to families needing it most! This year alone the ECP Foodbank Garden has donated hundreds of pounds of organic tomatoes, summer squash, snap peas, winter squash and culinary herbs. All of which is harvested, processed and distributed to families by the ECP Foodbank Volunteers. In addition to fostering Food Justice, the ECP Garden promotes a healthy sense of community and teamwork among all those connected to the effort.
Without the wonderful support of MADF none of this would be possible!

My family and I have been blessed by this program. They have placed us in a beautiful neighborhood, with concern for our situation. When our daughter graduated from high school, they actually sent her a gift card to encourage her and help her along the way. They adjusted our lease to consider needed expenses. They may seem a bit brass in the beginning, as they must be aggressive to identify true need, but I thank God that there is a program for vets that need a leg up. God is the source of all good things, but this was certainly a resource. Great program!!

Eloise's Cooking Pot is an inner city food bank that really cares about the people they serve. As a single mother of two teens, providing nutritional food to my family can be challenging. Eloise's Cooking Pot's fully sustainable garden and four-food-group offerings makes healthy living a reality for low income families.

To get serves it is easy and convenient, all you need is first and last name and complete date of birth of head of household and first names of every member in household with complete date of births of each. Eloise Cooking Pot serves thousands of individuals and families through out Pierce and King Counties. Volunteering here at Making a Difference has change my life. I found out about the food bank from a family member and I was in need of food. When I stopped by to get some food, and happen to over hear that they need volunteers. I asked how to help and got stated right away. I have been volunteering here at the Making a Difference foundation since January and I have even completed one of my internship requirements and and currently working on another one for school. I enjoy working with the people here, they are kind, understanding and compassionate to the clients. The staff here hold every one to high expectations resulting in clients being treated with the up most respect and like human beings. In spending time with clients, and other staff i have made lasting relationships. The Making a Difference foundation Truly has made a Difference in my life as well as many others in the community!

Whenever I think back to my high school years, I remember the great time I had volunteering at the food bank. The amazing people I worked with, the perfect boss, and the fantastic community that visited it. I miss unloading the perishables early in the morning, prepping bags for delivery, going insane from trying to organize the records, and regretting volunteering to handle the salmon.

In the short academic year I spent volunteering, I felt like I was a part of an organization made a difference. It's not just the food that did it, an automated facility could do that with ease. It's the rest of it: caring about the people that come, not getting frustrated from language barriers, having toys for kids so they can enjoy life and not just survive, having books to feed the mind, and taking care of the volunteers as well.

I whole heartedly endorse this organization for the incredible contributions it has made to the community.

I heard about the foodbank needing volunteers and I never volunteered before so I thought I would check it out and to my surprise its an awesome experience to be able to help people with the same needs as me also the food bank it a way to understand those in the community as well as get to know a lot of people its not just a food bank its a place where people truly care about peoples needs right on down to your pets needs its a place that understands the needs of seniors and those that cannot come to the food bank as well to think of just how many would go hungry every day with out the food banks help to me that's just sad the foodbank truly is a gift and a way to give back to the community. And the best part about it is its a fun place to spend some time.

I began volunteering for the Making A Difference Foundation about 3 years ago & I have a very fond love for this foundation and all the people it helps! I have made some very good friends at the food bank & have met so many people and so many people have touched my life in the greatest ways!

I was almost to the point of giving up until I came across the MAKING A DIFFERENCE FOUNDATION. They have helped me and my family tremendously and I can't emphasize how grateful we are for what. I want to personally thank Tammy and Ms. Blue for everything they've done to make a positive difference in my life. I'm looking forward to getting back on the road to success with the help of these beautiful ladies. Thank you!!!

I came to Making a difference foundation a mess... I had no hope, Tammy and Ms. Blue have done nothing but helped me and my family , they have giving me hope, and gave me back my dignity, and a home that is not only awesome it's safe and secure.

The Making A Difference Foundation is a very valuable asset to the Northwest. It has made a positive impact on the lives of many people. It has given hope to the hopeless, and shown honor to the Veterans who have served our great Country. They have provided support and encouragement in the Veteran's time of need. The Homes for Veterans have provided beautiful homes at a reduced rent to those that were homeless or that had unstable housing. They helped those families see the light at the end of their tunnel. The CEO, Ahndrea Blue, has put in countless hours to make a difference in the lives of Veterans and their families.

My Husband and I entered the Veteran Program through the Making a Difference Foundation in April 2012. I have nothing but great things to say about the Veterans program. I was offered and given services that was promised to me and them some. Including christmas gift for my children, gas money to get to work, and use of the food bank. I was living paycheck to paycheck for many years. I was taught how to budget properly and how to save money even when money is tight. If it was not for the Making a Difference Foundation I would not be in the situation I am today and on my way to home ownership. Thank you Making a DIfference for changing my families life in such a positive way!!

She basically treated the veteran as if she "owned" them. She would "text" them at all hours of the day and night. The veterans were not able to have peaceful enjoyment of the homes being rented because Ms. Blue could contact them at any time of the day or night with another demand. The veterans when required to leave their homes, were in a worse position than when they entered into the agreement with Ms. Blue and they were desperate at that time. The continued harassment both before and after being told to leave the house constituted harassment and is also a violation of the Landlord Tenant Act. Ms. Blue did a thorough investigation of the veterans before renting to them, knew their financial condition, made promises to help them with their finances and yet still charged them 50% of their net income and expected all payments to be made timely. She would not reduce the amount of the rent charged when the veteran advised her of their difficulties in paying on time. All amounts due were paid at the time the veteran was told to leave. Ms. Blue did not follow the law in evicting the veterans. She, as the attorney, knew or should have known and complied with the provisions of the Landlord Tenant Act. Even though Ms. Blue did not follow through on all of the promises she made to try and better the veterans' lives and that of their families, over the holidays, she bought the daughter of the veterans a new coat for Christmas and 5 minutes later came to their car, one week before Christmas and gave them their eviction notice. In another case, she delivered gift cards to the four children of another veteran and when she was "done" with them three months later, not only asked for the gift cards back, but for gas money to have them delivered as well. Does anyone but me get a lump in their stomach hearing of these things? PLEASE CONTACT THIS POST IF THIS HAS HAPPEN TO YOU!!!!!!!
