Woodville is a grassroots action for the rural, unincorporated community of Liberty Twp., Porter County, Indiana. Managed entirely by unpaid volunteers from its membership, the organization has successfully represented at county meetings and local municipal boards.
At times, it still suffers from recognition and the paucity of funding, but its words of opinion are respected and hold undisputed leverage. It is important to note that rural residents have little representation, almost no identity as a group, and can only speak as individual citizens to elected or appointed officials and boards. That is, until Woodville organized as a non-profit, 501c4 entity with the strength of partnership and loyalty.
