This organization has been a lifesaver for me. For a while I had no money coming in and they had a program to help me pay my energy bill. Yay! I’m doing better now but today they had an event where they provided free Bomba socks. That’s really amazing and such an awesome gift.Thank you, thank you thank you

Last week I came here to get help paying my utility with the Energy help program. Edna and Traci were so helpful, patient and kind. They made me feel so welcome and not a bother at all. I also had the privilege of meeting a volunteer named Flo. Flo is a human angel right alongside Edna and Traci. Flo gave me a flyer for an upcoming event. Traci and Edna helped me complete the utility help that I needed. I feel so blessed that I had their help, kindness and services.

Hello I been involved with this organization since 2015. I have been helped with the section 8 program and I have also recently have been given the opportunity to donate small amounts of money as I'm in a better place in my life and my time to give back to this wonderful organization. I highly recommend this organization and I give much appreciation to the job well done by Valerie Martinez and transportation staff as well as the energy assistant volunteers. This is a non profit organization that cares not just for seniors and the disable but people in general. Recently, Valerie made a phone call for me that I recieved results back. Thanks to all involved at making this organization on what it is and always has been.

PCACS provided my father with professional assistances. Thank you to Marilyn for being so polite and directing us to the SHIP department. My father met with Ginger from SHIP and she was incredibly helpful. Thank you, PCACS for providing amazing services not only to my father, but to our community.

This is a horrible nonprofit. They are rude and unprofessional. They claim to care about the elderly but truly offer no compassion. It's a shame. Don't waste your time supporting them.

I would just to express that we are currently working on expanding our program and are dedicated to serving Porter County to the best of our ability.

Unfortunately our experience with PCACS in Valparaiso on Campbell Street has not been pleasant. The person or persons answering the phone can sometimes be very impolite bordering on rude to the seniors. And that has happened more than once to my parents.
My parents have been members of the Banta Center for years which they enjoy going to. A little over a year ago I had to move my parents in with me. I also live in Porter County. They had already paid the yearly membership at Banta so they continued to go.
When they first started getting a ride on the bus, they were told they had to join another center. When I contacted the director, he did respond promptly and assured me that was not the case and they would accommodate my parents but sometimes emergencies come up which I totally understood.
So my parents continued to use this service once a week only and paid the fee even though my mother is handicapped. A few times the bus did not show up nor was there any notification. So my parents were left waiting. This last time when that occurred my mother called to inquire and was told if she was not happy with service to find another line.
I was in the next room. My mother did not get upset or raise her voice. If anything, she was disappointed about not being picked up and left waiting. Once my mother hung and told me what was said to her I called and I was upset that they would treat the seniors that count on them that way. I understand dealing with seniors can be difficult. But that is what PCACS is supposed to do.
I guess as retaliation because I was upset my parents just received a phone call that they would not be picked up anymore.
I already knew that we could not rely on this service so I'm not upset about them not picking my parents up. It's just the fact that this is how seniors are being treated. So now Banta has lost two memberships. So they lost revenue which I'm sure they count on.
Banta has been pleasant for my parents. Unfortunately the same cannot be said about the transportation to get seniors to a nice place so they can enjoy themselves.
