Mission: Catholic educators and parents under the spiritual direction of the Legionaries of Christ, a religious congregation, founded Woodmont Academy in 1995. The school opened with the approval of the Archdiocese of Baltimore with 49 students. The school has approximately 300 students. Woodmont Academy was the first Catholic elementary school to open in twenty years to serve the community in the Archdiocese and has enjoyed significant growth within the last 8 years. In order to accommodate the demand for quality Catholic education, Woodmont Academy built a new campus in Howard County, making it the first Catholic school to open in the county in 60 years. This expansion is a testament to the vitality of the school and the community it serves.
