Mission: The Women's Resource Center (WRC) of Greater Lawrence/Haverhill was founded in 1976 to provide services to battered women and their families. Our primary purpose is to be one of the many forces dedicated to the elimination of violence against women and children. This mission now includes services for victims of rape and other forms of sexual assault. Our guiding philosophy is that all women must be empowered in every way possible, in order to grow and develop, and ultimately reach their fullest potential. We reject all approaches to human interaction that use power and control as a means of manipulating behavior and limiting individual freedom.
